Coastal Uncorked Food and Wine Festival Coming in May 2010

A new food and wine festival is coming to Myrtle Beach in May of 2010. The new festival will feature local restaurants, wine tastings, outdoor entertainment, and a golf tournament. It is set for May 16-23, 2010.

The Coastal Uncorked event includes:

- Restaurant Week - Restaurants throughout the Myrtle Beach area will participate by showcasing their cuisine with a special Coastal Uncorked $20 tasting menu. All area restaurants are invited to participate.

- Wine Around Myrtle Beach - Each day, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., a trolley will transport festival guests around the Myrtle Beach area to selected locations for wine tastings, beer tastings, cooking demonstrations, live music and wine dinners.

- Outdoor Entertainment - Live entertainment will be available all day at The Market Common on Friday, May 21, and Saturday, May 22, as well as grilling demonstrations and tastings from local chefs. Outdoor party decorating ideas will be presented and wine and beer tastings will also be available. - Coastal Uncorked Golf Tournament - The inaugural Coastal Uncorked Golf Tournament, which will take place at Pine Lakes Country Club, will feature local chefs and wine representatives who will setup a station at each hole for tastings. Entry into the tournament is $150 per person.

- Coastal Uncorked Food Fight Chef Competition and Gala - On Sunday, May 23, at 6 p.m., local chefs will compete in a live "Iron Chef"-style cooking competition. Culinary, beer and wine stations from Myrtle Beach area participating restaurants will be available for guests to enjoy.

- A variety of other events will also take place during the eight-day festival including a poster competition, children's culinary events, live music and a cake competition.
