Alabama Theatre’s “The South’s Grandest Christmas Show” is a treat for the whole family!

Last week my family and I had the wonderful pleasure of attending Alabama Theatre's 'The South's Grandest Christmas Show'. Having never been to a Christmas Show, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. The staff at the Alabama Theatre was kind and courteous from the very beginning, showing to our seats and providing booster sits for the children. Before the show began, a family friendly comedian Ricky Mokel entertained the crowd! He was a hit with all ages. Once the show began, it was non-stop entertainment. The kids marveled at the extremely talented performers, the sparkling costumes and festive scenery. The show included many traditional Christmas songs as well as some upbeat modern selections. From tap dancers to toy soldiers playing a keyboard with their feet, to a dancing comedic performance of 'Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer' there truly is something for everyone. The show even includes a rock portion of 'Little Drummer Boy' complete with a full drum kit, amazing violinist, and one of most intricate light shows I have even seen.

This show was definitely a hit with the entire family. Watching the children's wide eyes as Santa in his sleigh flew down from the ceiling is a sight I won't soon forget. The stage hands even came back to our row to give the kids a toy reindeer from Santa! Towards the end, the host, Greg Rowles, invited all the children up on stage for a special holiday number.

If anyone has the chance to see a Holiday show while visiting Myrtle Beach, this is the show to see. From young to old, you will be dazzled by this show. The Christmas show at the Alabama Theatre really is "The South's Grandest Christmas Show"!
