Tax Free Weekend is happening again for South Carolinians in 2011! On August 5 & 6, the 6 percent sales tax will be lifted for items such as clothing, accessories, footwear, school supplies, computers, and computer equipment!
The Tax Free Weekend is coming at the perfect time of the year for all of those back to school needs. Pick up new clothes and shoes so that your kids go back to school in style, new computers and equipment so they can stick to doing that homework, and other school supplies and accessories to help ensure they're being an A+ student!
Not only is the tax free weekend beneficial for back to school needs, but it's also a great, easy way to save money! You can save even more than the 6 percent sales tax by following these few easy tips:
1. Plan ahead. Don't go to the store with the intentions of "browsing." Make a list and stick to it. The more you browse, the more you'll spend, so with a list you can narrow it all down to the things you NEED!
2. Use coupons. Most stores will allow coupons on top of the tax discount. Start checking newspapers now for great additional deals!
3. Compare Prices. Don't purchase the first thing you see! Fight through the crowds, shop around, and find the better deal!
