Legends In Concert To Move Production Spectacular To Broadway At The Beach In Myrtle Beach

The celebrated tribute artist production Legends in Concert announced today that it will become the resident headline entertainment attraction in the building adjacent to Planet Hollywood at Broadway at the Beach. The performer line-up for the new theater, which is scheduled to debut on March 11, 2011, will be released in the coming weeks.

Legends in Concert, owned by the Las Vegas-based entertainment production company On Stage Entertainment, first burst onto the Las Vegas stage nearly 30 years ago. The Surfside Beach Legends location, which has enjoyed a 15-year success story, will end its 2010 season early to allow adequate construction time for major renovations before opening at its new location. Performances at Legends In Concert's current theater in Surfside Beach will continue through Oct. 6, 2010.

"We love the intimacy of our new venue, and our loyal Legends fans and new guests are certain to enjoy the renovations, as well as the introduction of many exciting enhancements," said Chris Beattie, regional general manager for Legends in Concert. "We look forward to the future in our fabulous new state-of-the-art entertainment facility. Our new location will enable our fans to enjoy a fantastic array of over 100 hotels, restaurants, shopping destinations and other entertainment attractions that will only be steps away from our front door."

"Broadway at the Beach is an ideal setting and On Stage's first choice in South Carolina for relocating the show," said Brian Brigner, chief operating officer for On Stage Entertainment, producer of Legends. "It has been our privilege and pleasure to showcase such enormously talented tribute artists and provide family-oriented, value-priced, high-quality live musical entertainment in the Grand Strand market for the last 15 years."

Broadway at the Beach is the largest festival entertainment complex in South Carolina. It annually attracts more than 14 million visitors.

The new theater is being designed by noted regional architect Tom Miller of Miller Design Services of Myrtle Beach. The renovations will result in a classic, yet comfortable Las Vegas-style showroom which will be a uniquely-styled public assembly venue in the Myrtle Beach marketplace. Legends in Concert's new home will boast 600 seats. Its innovative design will create an intimate concert space. Each cushy, relaxed seat will have great sight lines to the stage and generous legroom. Spectacular projection screens will be positioned around the theater. The performances will take place daily, utilizing a similar seasonal weekly schedule well-known by Grand Strand fans.
