Black Friday in Myrtle Beach

Visitors to Myrtle Beach resorts over the Thanksgiving holiday will want to make the best of Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year. Many stores open their doors at midnight for their Black Friday specials and stay open for the whole weekend. You’ll find no shortage of fantastic shopping deals over the holiday weekend. The city and surrounding area has an amazing variety of shopping centers, strip malls and fashionable department stores. A few of the more popular ones include:

Tanger Outlets
Tanger Outlets is a bargain seeker’s heaven, and Myrtle Beach is home to two of them. The two shopping centers have a good selection of well known national stores as well as some specialty stores. Both centers are conveniently located for VMB resort guests. Individual stores include Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica, Old Navy, Timberland, Brooks Brothers, Gap, Polo Ralph Lauren and many more. The Tanger Outlet off of Highway 501 is an easy drive for those staying at the Palms Resort, as well as Hotel Blue and Captain’s Quarters. The north-end Tanger Outlets are right across the street from Sea Watch resort, and close by to Ocean Creek Resort and Beach Cove.

Coastal Grand Mall
With 1.5 million square feet, Coastal Grand Mall is Myrtle Beach's largest shopping center, and indeed the largest indoor shopping mall in the whole of South Carolina. The mall accommodates almost 130 specialty shops and a number of national stores such as Bed Bath & Beyond, Dick's Sporting Goods, Sears, Dillard's and Belk. Other stores include Best Buy, Books-a-million and Costco. If you get tired of shopping there is a 14-screen Cinemark Theatre to try out and a number of sit-down restaurants and fast food outlets. This mall is a short drive from The Palace Resort, as well as some other south end hotels as you can see in this handy Myrtle Beach resorts map.

Broadway at the Beach
Set on 350 acres surrounding the 23-acre Lake Broadway in the center of Myrtle Beach, Broadway at the Beach is a great outdoor shopping mall where you’ll find something to suit everyone. The complex contains shops, restaurants, nightlife and attractions for all ages. Attractions here include Ripley’s Aquarium, Myrtle Waves Water Park and Pavilion Nostalgia Park and Carousel Park

Myrtle Beach Mall
Just a few miles away in North Myrtle Beach is the Myrtle Beach Mall. The mall has recently reopened after extensive remodeling and is home to Belk, Books-A-Million, JCPenney and the new Colonial Mall 12 Theater. It is also home to the only Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World in the state.

Hammock Shops
Located at Pawleys Island at the southern end of the Grand Strand, Hammock Shops is a collection of 20 delightful specialty shops and restaurants set in an historic setting. This is the place to find arts and crafts and a selection of hand made jewelry. Hammock Shops were made for the discerning boutique shopper.

Market Commons
One place to pamper yourself this coming Black Friday is at the Market Common. Here you’ll find a large selection of shops and restaurants to choose from. This is a wonderful district where you could easily spend the whole day.

Make sure to take along your VMB card in case the shops are willing to honor that discount in addition to their Black Friday discounts. Some of the partners at these locations include Coastal Wine Boutique at the Market Commons and The Ron Jon Surf Shop at Broadway at the Beach. Check out the VMB card page for a full list of partner shops.
