1. Enjoy a day at Broadway at the Beach.

Located in the central area of Myrtle Beach, this popular shopping, dining and entertainment complex is the perfect place to spend a summer day. Here you can enjoy lunch at Hard Rock Café, challenge yourself on a ropes course, buy a new pair of shoes and so much more! Broadway at the Beach is just a short drive from Forest Dunes Resort and Beach Colony Resort.


2. Catch a Pelicans baseball game.

If you are lucky enough to visit Myrtle Beach during baseball season, you will want to take in a game at the TicketReturn.com Field where the Pelicans, a Class A Advanced Affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, take the field. Various promotions are held at each game and most families find this to be an affordable, fun summer pastime.


3. Take a walk at the park.

Myrtle Beach State Park is a local and visitor favorite. Located near Crown Reef Beach Resort and Waterpark, this gem features pier fishing, hiking, picnic areas and of course, the beach!


4. View works of art at Franklin G. Burroughs – Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum.  

One of Myrtle Beach’s best kept secrets is located on the south end of town. This quaint art museum has free admission and is open six days a week. Here you can stroll through the galleries and special exhibits and learn more about local and national works of art.


5. Enjoy a day at The Market Common.

This fairly new shopping and dining center is located not far from many south-end resorts such as Landmark Resort and Palace Resort. Here you can enjoy lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants, catch a movie, rent a bicycle, take a yoga class or browse the various shops. It’s easy to spend an entire day here or just stop by for the evening.


6. Shop Tanger Outlets.

With two locations, one on Hwy. 501 and one on Hwy. 17, the Tanger Outlets feature lots of name brands and plenty of shopping. Here you can browse deals from Coach, Adidas, Nine West and more. The Hwy. 17 location is located near Sea Watch ResortOcean Creek Resort and Beach Cove Resort.


7. Ride a wooden roller coaster at Family Kingdom Amusement Park.

Located near Captain’s Quarters Resort and hotel BLUE, this seaside amusement park is a favorite among visitors. Rides include tilt-a-whirl, Swamp Fox Roller Coaster, bumper cars, carousel, Ferris wheel and so much more.


8. Come face to face with celebrities at the Hollywood Wax Museum. 

One of the area’s newest attractions, the wax museum is a place where you can pose with an array of celebrities like Clint Eastwood, Beyoncé and George Clooney.


9. Ride along in a real NASCAR race car.

The Myrtle Beach Speedway on Hwy. 501 is the site of NASCAR Racing Experience where you can ride along in a real race car or even drive one for yourself! They also offer affordable monster truck rides, which is a fun family experience.


10. Stroll along a pier.

Whether you want to take a relaxing walk or spend the day fishing, a local pier is the perfect place to do so. There are a variety of piers in the area including Springmaid Pier, 2nd Avenue Pier and Apache Pier. Some piers are free to walk on while others do charge a small fee. You can also rent equipment if you plan to do some fishing and catch fresh fish for your family dinner.
