Myrtle Beach News: A Multiyear Transformation Planned for Broadway at the Beach

By Samantha Norton

Broadway at the Beach is South Carolina’s number one tourist destination in the heart of Myrtle Beach. This tourist magnet has been thriving as a premier destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment since 1995.

The Hard Rock Café has been a staple at Broadway since 1995 (one of the original tenants), residing at the back of what has been known as Celebrity Square, in a unique pyramid shaped building, filled with music memorabilia. The Hard Rock is sticking around and moving to a new location, at the forefront of the previous Celebrity Square.

“The new Myrtle Beach café places us in a more strategic location at the heart of Broadway’s transformed entertainment and nightlife area,” said Calum MacPherson, area Vice President of café operations (North America) for Hard Rock International. “Additionally, the new Hard Rock Café Myrtle Beach will debut a fresh and invigorating design that reflects our brand’s contemporary atmosphere.”

Broadway at the Beach will be adding several new establishments to their already impressive and guest favorite line up:

Dave and Buster’s: Dave and Buster’s is a national brand and will be opening in Broadway at the Beach. The exact location and opening date is yet to be announced, but it is sure to be a great addition. Dave and Buster’s is in over 80 locations where you can eat, drink, play games and watch sports.

American Tap House: American Tap House will be a culinary and craft beer experience brought to you by the operators of Murrells Inlet’s Wicked Tuna and Enso Asian Bar and Sushi out of Charlotte, NC. You can look forward to an American themed gastropub serving American comfort food with a southern twist. And you can wash down these craft treats with over 40 regional and local craft brews.

OZ: The newest nightlife experience to hit Broadway’s Celebrity Square, set to open this spring, is the unique club OZ. The theme and design will change each night to give guests an all new experience every time they enter. Some of the themes are rumored to be the lights of Paris and the rings of Saturn; you won’t want to miss it.

Guest favorites Malibu’s Surf Bar, Crocodile Rocks, Original Shucker’s Raw Bar and Carolina Comedy Club will all remain open and in their current locations. Broadway Louie’s will also remain open, but it has recently moved to the corner location next to the comedy club and will continue to feature the award-winning Broadway Jake’s All Star Karaoke.
