St. Patrick’s Day Festivities in Myrtle Beach

By Samantha Norton

Want to have a St. Patrick’s Day that will make others turn green with envy? Spend it in Myrtle Beach!

Myrtle Beach and the surrounding areas host a ton of different St. Patrick’s Day and Weekend celebrations and festivals, meaning no matter what kind of event you’re looking for (rowdy or more family friendly) you’ll be sure to find it. Plus this Irish holiday is generally the beginning of the warming up of the area and temperatures, in the 70s, are usually just about perfect for all of these outdoor festivals and parades.

Area St. Patrick's Events

North Myrtle Beach St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade | March 11, 2017

This event has been a staple of the Myrtle Beach area’s celebration of Irish heritage for many years and draws upwards of 30,000 people. It begins with a large parade at 9 a.m. through downtown North Myrtle Beach. After the parade from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. there is a large festival with about 150 different vendors, lots of food, live music on two stages and plenty of activities for the kids. If you are staying near or in North Myrtle Beach you will definitely want to check it out!

8th Annual Irish Fest at the Market Common | March 11, 2017

This event has quickly made its mark on the Grand Strand. Hundreds of people gather in Valor Park at The Market Common to enjoy lots of live music, food vendors and green tinted beers. There are also inflatables and face painting to entertain the younger members of your group. This year’s Irish Fest takes place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature a variety of beers including New Belgium Citradelic, Palmetto Nitro Espresso Porter, Highland Gaelic and a variety of craft beer. Admittance is free but the food, drink and kids’ activities are an additional cost.

The Luck of the Marshwalk | March 17, 2017

Head to the Murrell’s Inlet Marshwalk, just south of Myrtle Beach, in your best St. Patty’s day costume and you just might go home a lucky winner $1,300 in cash and prizes. You can find costume contest details here. Registration for the contest is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Creek Ratz on St. Patrick’s Day with final judging taking place behind Drunken Jack’s at 10 p.m. You can enjoy food and specials all along the Marshwalk, while live music fills the evening air!

More 2017 St. Patrick’s Day events will be added as they are announced.

These are just some of the events going on around town to celebrate the spirit of the Irish. Visit our Myrtle Beach Events page for more events going on in the area for St. Patrick’s Day and every other beautiful Myrtle Beach day.
