Myrtle Beach Will Be The New Home For Postseason Football

By DDehaan

Myrtle Beach will soon be in the game with the addition of the Myrtle Beach Bowl Game in December 2020.

Conference USA, Mid-American Conference (MAC) and Sun Belt Conference will be involved in feature matchups. Conference partners will participate up to four times between 2020 and 2025.

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will host the annual game at newly renovated Brooks Stadium in Conway, South Carolina, less than 20 miles northwest of Myrtle Beach. Each of the three conferences will be nationally televised on ESPN networks.

In one year, the Grand Strand will be welcoming fans and families from all over to support the game and local businesses. The expansion of Brooks Stadium to more than 20,000 seats including suites and specialty areas for activities will allow for more family fun in the fall.

“It is a fantastic addition to the sports offerings in the Myrtle Beach area, and our exciting destination will ensure that players, coaches and fans will have a great experience,” said Karen Riordan, president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.

Stay at the Sea Watch Resort in Myrtle Beach for a short drive to Conway and all of the action on game day.
