Myrtle Beach’s Boardwalk Among Nation’s Best

By Vacation Myrtle Beach

Boardwalks have become increasingly popular over the last 20 years but it’s no surprise that Myrtle Beach’s Boardwalk and Promenade is still ranked among the nation’s best in a variety of categories.  Located between the Second Avenue Pier to the 14th Avenue Pier, the Boardwalk is home to numerous stores, shops, restaurants, and situated just south of the Family Kingdom Amusement Park.

The reviews from tourists and vacationers have been off-the-charts but several national publications have begun to take notice of how revitalized the boardwalk area in Myrtle Beach has become.

  • National Geographic named the boardwalk to their list of “Top 10 U.S. Boardwalks” in 2010 based on the amount of shops, activities, and the scenic views available.
  • Travel & Leisure Magazine named the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk to their list of “America’s Best Beach Boardwalks” in 2010.
  • FamilyVacationCritic.com ranked the boardwalk 9th on their list of “11 Best Boardwalks for Families”.
  • The USA Today ranked Myrtle Beach’s Boardwalk and Promenade 12th on their list of “Best Boardwalks for Food” in 2013.
  • The Southeast Tourism Society ranked the Boardwalk as the top Escape to the Southeast Travel Attraction of the Year Shining Example winner in fall 2013.
  • Lastly, the area is being praised by cyclists as the Boardwalk was ranked as one of the “10 Best Boardwalks for Cycling” by Bicycling Magazine.

Whether you’re looking for a fun place to shop or just somewhere to take a nice stroll alongside the ocean, Myrtle Beach’s Boardwalk and Promenade offers plenty of passive recreational opportunities.
