New Theater Set to Open at Broadway at the Beach
Announced today, Carmike Cinemas is revamping the old IMAX theater at Broadway at the Beach. The IMAX theater has been closed since the end of 2011.
This new theater will be opening in August 2012. The first of its kind in the area, it will carry the name BIGD, and will show both 2D and 3D movies in large format. It will be added to the existing Carmike Cinemas entertainment complex and will be 3 stories tall and 82 feet wide. This expansive theater will have state-of-the-art sound and resolution that is even better than high definition. With the added theater, the Carmike complex will have 17 screens for Broadway at the Beach visitors to enjoy.
