Things to do near Palace Resort

We understand that while staying in an unfamiliar town it can be difficult to figure out what local attractions to visit and where you are going to get the most for your money. So we have compiled our list of the most popular places and activities that are close to Palace Resort that you should make sure you check out while vacationing there.

Jurassic and Jungle Lagoon Mini Golf- Miniature golf is one of the best things to do with your whole family while on vacation and The Palace is located close to at least two different courses. Jurassic Golf is located south of the resort and Jungle Lagoon to the north, meaning you have at least two very different options for a fun way to spend an afternoon or evening. Plus these courses (and some others) are Vacation Myrtle Beach partners, meaning you get $1 off per person on rounds or $3 off an all day pass.

Family Kingdom- This oceanfront amusement park is the perfect place to take kids or relive your own childhood amusement park memories. The park recently added a steel roller coaster to go along with their original wooden coaster and other classic rides. Plus since it is located only several blocks away Family Kingdom is an easy last-minute activity choice.

Level 6 Entertainment Center- The nearby Captain’s Quarters Resort’s Level 6 Entertainment Center is also open to the public. With a bowling alley, arcade games, pool tables and more, Level 6 is a great place to spend a not-so-sunny afternoon. Plus guests at Palace Resort and other VMB properties get discounts on bowling.

2nd Avenue Pier- This pier is known for its great catches in both size and variety, making it a great place to teach someone how to fish for the first time or for seasoned fishermen. You can rent rods and buy bait from the shop, meaning you don’t have to bring anything with you in order to fish here. Or, if fishing isn’t your thing you can also buy a walking pass to just enjoy the ocean view and watch others haul in their catches. With the VMB card you can get a buy one get one walking pass.

Myrtle Beach Art Museum- This small local museum is housed in a historic villa that dates back to 1924. The museum has exhibits that change out about four times a year with upcoming exhibits including the works of Ansel Adams. There are also regular events at the museum like lectures, cultural events like a Chinese New Year Celebration and receptions.

Downwind Sails Watersports- Offering parasailing, boat rides, jet ski rentals, kayaking and more Downwind Sails Watersports is the place to go for your ocean adventures. Downwind has been operating since 1981, making them the oldest and most experienced business in the area. You can be sure they know all the area tricks and tips to make sure that you have a great time no matter which exciting water adventure you chose. And with your Myrtle Beach discount card you can get $10 off parasailing or jet ski rentals which are only offered in season.

Myrtle Beach Segway- Take a fun, quirky tour around Market Common in a Segway. You can glide around this popular shopping district, getting to know all there is and then stop for lunch at one of the many restaurants that caught your eye. Or the Segway company also offers tours of historic Huntington Beach State Park, located in Murrells Inlet. Take an adventure in these futuristic machines known as PT’s or Personal Transporters.
