With the days of summer winding down and school starting up soon, many people are heading to the beach for their final Myrtle Beach vacation of the summer. If your family will be at the beach this weekend, there are plenty of things to do. Here is our list of the top five things to do in Myrtle Beach this weekend, August 10-12.
1. Watch the Big Race: Head over to the Myrtle Beach Speedway with the entire family for the Championship Auto Racing Series (CARS), formally known as the Pro Cup Racing Series on Saturday, Aug. 11. This race is especially important to driver #56, Gus Dean, who will be racing against others who are more than twice his age. At only 17-years-old, his car will be displaying the Livi Center Logo to help raise awareness for this effort. Bring the whole family down to cheer on South Carolina native, Gus Dean!
2. If you can be Brave: If reptiles don’t scare you then head over to the Myrtle Beach Reptile Expo at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 11-12. A large variety of exhibitors will be there as well as expert presentations on some of the world’s most interesting reptiles. Reptiles will also be for sale for those wanting to add a pet to their family.
3. Eat your Heart Out: Head over to the Myrtle Beach House of Blues on Sunday morning at 9 a.m. for their Sunday Gospel Brunch. Complete with Gospel performances by *GLORY* and a buffet, both kids and adults will enjoy waking up to this on Sunday morning. There is a cost for this event and it’s first come first serve, so arrive early!
4. Come and Get Wet: hotel BLUE’s oceanfront pool party, Therapy, is a hit every Sunday. Starting at noon, the hottest party at the beach begins. From the swim-up pool bar, Mixx, to the live DJ poolside, the weather is hot, the drinks are cold and the party is non-stop.
5. If you Can Stand Controversy: If you don’t mind a little bit of controversy during a fun live comedy show, check out Tommy Blaze at the Comedy Cabana in Myrtle Beach this weekend.
