Top 3 Mexican Restaurants in Myrtle Beach

By Vacation Myrtle Beach

During your Myrtle Beach vacation you may decide you want a little bit of south of the border flair in your restaurant experience. If you and your family get a craving for some of the best Mexican food in Myrtle Beach, you’ll want to check out these top restaurants.

1. Fiesta del Burro Loco: Located just off of Hwy. 17 Bypass in Myrtle Beach, Burro Loco is a favorite Mexican restaurant in Myrtle Beach of many. Decked out in bright colors and décor, Burro Loco serves up hot Mexican food and cold drinks. For those who are 21 and up, they mix up some of the biggest Margaritas in town – by the 60 ounce pitcher. If you want to pick your own flavor, you can opt for any of the regular size margaritas like Black Jack or the Matador Margarita. If you are feeling bold you can order up the Burro Man’s Big Margarita which is twice the size of the regular glasses. On a hot summer day try their Bacardi Mojitos for a refreshing drink option. If you are hungry enough for an appetizer, they serve a variety of Mexican options like Chicken Taquitos and Stuffed Jalapenos. With their large servings, you may want to skip the appetizers and head right for the main course. And for your mid-day meal the lunch combination meals at this restaurant are some of the best around. From combo plates to burritos, Burro Loco has something for everyone.

2. Senor Frogs: If you are at Broadway at the Beach and are looking to have a little fun with your lunch or dinner head over to Senor Frogs. While Senor Frogs is suitable for kids during the day, the atmosphere changes into more of a party mode at night. They have a good selection of Tequila for those wanting to stay truly authentic as well as margaritas and house drinks. Senor Frogs is fun if you want to pop in for a drink and an appetizer or come for an entire meal. They have more than just Mexican food; they also have pasta, burgers and barbeque. On their Mexican portion of the menu, they serve up Tex-Mex Tacos, Chimichangas, Enchiladas, Burritos and Fajitas. For the little ones they feature smaller portions and kid friendly foods like Chicken Fingers, Hamburgers and Quesadillas. Make sure you save room for Senor Frog’s tasty desserts like Dessert Nachos and Cajeta Crepes. You won’t be disappointed in this Myrtle Beach Mexican restaurant, especially if you're staying at a VMB resort and remember to bring the VMB discounts card with you--good for a free order of chef's nachos with the purchase of an entree.

3. Abuelo’s: If you are near Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach, you will want to check out Abuelo’s  Mexican restaurant. They have a free standing restaurant as well as a counter in the food court of the mall. If you choose to eat in the food court while shopping or before seeing a movie, you can opt for their fresh-made-to-order burritos or nachos. You pick your meat, toppings and fillings and they make it right in front of you. If you aren’t too hungry, the nachos are big enough to split. If you want a more relaxed meal, head over to their restaurant which sits in the parking lot of the mall. Here you can order one of their signature margaritas and snack on an appetizer such as their Dip Sampler or Mexican Shrimp Cocktail. Their menu contains symbols to let you know which items are spicy so you don’t need to worry if food with a bite to it isn’t your thing. They also have some items which can be ordered in smaller portions if you think the regular size might be too big. This includes items such as the Grilled Chicken Salad. If you like fajitas, you’ll want to try them here. Fresh off their wood grill, their fajitas feature items such as Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Shrimp, Marinated Chicken and Pescado.
