VMB Partner Spotlight: T.I.G.E.R.S.

By Vacation Myrtle Beach

Enjoy an African safari without straying far from your Myrtle Beach hotel when you visit The Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species, or T.I.G.E.R.S.

Far more than a zoo, there’s no other place where you can get close to and interact with rare animal species like you can at T.I.G.E.R.S.

Visit the Tigers Preservation Station at Barefoot Landing for a little taste of what you can see at T.I.G.E.R.S. This free wildlife exhibit and living tiger museum gives the whole family a chance to meet exotic animals up close. For a fee, you can have your photo taken holding a tiger cub or a young ape.

For the full experience, visit the 50-acre T.I.G.E.R.S. nature preserve. You’ll get to see over 60 big cats, watch the antics of the apes, and view grey wolves. Animal interactions at T.I.G.E.R.S. can get up close and personal as you get to hold and snuggle baby tigers and young primates, fly trained falcons, and perhaps say “hello” to Bubbles the Elephant. T.I.G.E.R.S. is one of the only spots to view some rare species, including the only place you’ll get to meet a Liger, named by the Guinness Book of World Records as the World’s Largest Cat in 2006.

For a more complete experience, take the Wild Encounters Tour, a guided walk through the 50-acre preserve to see tigers, wolves, leopards, chimpanzees, orangutans, and other rare species, many of them roaming free in their natural habitat.

Hard to believe this little taste of Africa is just 17 miles south of Barefoot Landing, a short drive from your Myrtle Beach resort. Plus, VMB cardholders get a $20 off coupon for up to 5 people per party for T.I.G.E.R.S. tours (children under age 6 are not allowed on tours). So you don’t have any reason to not make T.I.G.E.R.S a part of your next Myrtle Beach vacation.
