What’s New in Myrtle Beach 2017

By Samantha Norton

Myrtle Beach is always adding new attractions and dining options and 2017 is no different. Below are some of the new attractions, dining and other changes you can look forward to experiencing on your next visit!

Broadway at the Beach

Broadway at the Beach is a tried-and-true favorite for Myrtle Beach visitors, replete with a one stop buffet of fun feel. You can see and experience popular attractions, dine at restaurants with rave reviews, shop till you drop and have a night out all in one complex. 2016 ushered in many changes (you can check out our coverage of that here) and also set the framework in place for the changes occurring/finishing in 2017. Here are a few highlights:

The relocation of Hard Rock Café was completed and now resides at the Lake Broadway facing entrance to Celebrity Square. It no longer sports the iconic pyramid but now beckons you in with a giant guitar.

The Mexican themed restaurant Carlos and Charlies was torn down, making room for a Paula Deen Family Kitchen, coming in 2017.

Taking up residence at the parking lot facing entrance (the former Hard Rock location) will be Dave and Busters. Currently under construction and set for a 2017 opening, Dave and Busters is set to bring a whole new level of fun and entertainment to Broadway. Best known for their eclectic atmosphere blending a restaurant, arcade and sports bar all under one roof; Dave and Busters is a great time for all ages.

You have probably heard of this next addition, whether through social media or even watching the namesake television show, Wahlburgers, is now open in Celebrity Square. Wahlburgers is a “fast casual burger concept” serving up unique burgers and toppings while embracing their family dynamic and highlighting their childhood.

Attractions

The Track Recreation Center opened on Restaurant Row and has options to keep your family steeped in fun for hours. Choose from two multi-level elevated go-kart tracks featuring electric go-karts so you can have “all of the fun without the fumes”, rookie and kiddie karts and a huge arcade featuring classic and new favorites.

A short drive away, Murrell’s Inlet welcomes Pirate Ship Adventures. You will set sail on the inlet in a pirate ship and take part in “pirate-inspired activities” during your journey. Pirate themed attire and speak is encouraged for the whole family.

Grocery Stores

ALDI grocery store will soon have a home in Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle beach. The expected opening dates are spring 2017. ALDI stores present a unique, cost effective approach to grocery shopping aimed at saving their customers money.

New Restaurants

RypTydz Oceanfront Grille and Rooftop Bar is an exciting new eatery coming to the Boardwalk! Situated oceanfront you will be able to nosh on great food and take in great views simultaneously.

Although it was bitter sweet to say goodbye to Planet Hollywood in 2016 we are excited for Carolina Ale House to open in its former location in 2017. You can expect great pub food with a family friendly atmosphere and a large assortment of beers for the adults in your crowd when you visit Carolina Ale House.

New to Surfside Beach in 2016, Panera Bread will be opening another location in Myrtle Beach in 2017. Panera Bread is known for a large selection of soups, salads and sandwiches, as well as bagels and other bread options to feed a few or big group.
