Why You Should Choose a Room Over a Suite on Your Next Myrtle Beach Vacation

When you come to Myrtle Beach for a vacation and are on a budget then booking a room, as opposed to a suite or condo, may be your best bet.

Rooms typically do not have kitchens but may have a mini fridge and also may have a microwave (this varies from resort to resort), so it’s great for those who don’t plan to do any of their own cooking on their vacation. Plus, you don’t need a stove to be able to make easy items like sandwiches and trail mix for your day at the beach.

Rooms generally have one or two beds (usually two queens/double beds or one king) and don’t have a separate living room area. If you aren’t planning on spending a lot of time in your room and are planning on being on the beach or using the amenities at your resort then the size of the room is probably not high on the priority list, making a room the perfect choice.

Great for couples or small families, rooms can be affordable and provide just what you need for your vacation: a comfortable bed to sleep in at a nice resort that is located right on the ocean.

Captain’s Quarters Resort: Offering up so many amenities that you probably will hardly spend time in your room, this south-end Myrtle Beach resort offers a variety of room options including Ocean View Room, Ocean View King Room and Oceanfront King Room. These rooms do come with a small refrigerator and a microwave. They also offer a studio unit which has a king bed in it as well as a double sleeper sofa, offering a little bit more space.

Caravelle Resort: The Caravelle Resort is made up of multiple buildings. The great part about this is that if you stay in any building other than the main building, you can still use all of the great amenities that are located at the main building including the block-long pool scape with a lazy river and kids’ pool as well as an indoor pool and lounge. The two room types that are located at this resort are at their St. John’s building. While St. John’s is not oceanfront, they are just across the street and offer easy access to the beach. They have both a King Non-Oceanfront Room and a 2 Queen Non-Oceanfront Room. Since they are not oceanfront, you can usually get these rooms at a steal of a price. These units have a microwave and mini-fridge.

hotel BLUE Resort: Located on the south end, this resort is great for couples looking to get away. With an on-site swim-up pool bar and summer pool parties, this hotel is popular with the younger crowd. They offer an Ocean View Room, which has two double beds, Ocean View King Room, and Oceanfront King Room. These units do come with both a microwave and small refrigerator. Guests at this resort can also use all of the amenities at Captain’s Quarters Resort.

Crown Reef Resort: Crown Reef Resort, located on the south end of Myrtle Beach, not far from The Market Common, offers an Oceanfront Queen Deluxe unit for guests visiting Myrtle Beach. This room has two queen beds plus a mini-fridge. While this unit doesn’t have a microwave, Crown Reef has plenty of on-site dining options available to guests plus the longest lazy river in Myrtle Beach, multiple outdoor pools and an indoor heated pool.
