Reggie Sanders to Headline The Ripkin Experience Spring Break Camp Powered by Under Armour
MYRTLE BEACH, SC – The Ripken Experience/Myrtle Beach announced today that Reggie Sanders, former Major League Baseball great and World Series Champion will headline its annual spring break camp. The camp will take place April 1 - 3 at the world-class baseball facility located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.Sanders, a Myrtle Beach resident, grew up in Florence, South Carolina where he was a star baseball player at Wilson High School. Sanders played at Spartanburg Methodist prior to embarking on a 17-year career in Major League Baseball.
A member of three World Series teams with the St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, and the 2001 champion Arizona Diamondbacks, Sanders also was selected to the 1995 National League All-Star team. During that season, he was 4th in the National League in Slugging Percentage at .579 and 10th in Home Runs (28) and Average (.306). He hit 305 career home runs and played for eight teams during his career: the Reds, Pirates, Braves, Cardinals, Diamondbacks, Royals, Giants, and Padres.
The three-day camp is a wonderful way for players to learn more about all aspects of the game of baseball. Unlike Specialty Training, this week gives campers the best well-rounded experience in all field positions, rather than focusing on a few. It is ideal for players looking to learn more about the game overall and includes infield, pitching, outfield, hitting, and team instruction as well as instructional games each afternoon. All campers will receive a written evaluation from their instructors at the end of the week so they can learn more about their strengths and areas they need to focus on.
Camp capacity is limited to just 50 players. In addition to Reggie Sanders, players will learn from Ripken Baseball certified coaches, including college players, former minor league players, and college/high school coaches.
In addition to the personal instruction, each camper will receive a Ripken Baseball shirt and cap, written evaluation from the team instructor, an exit packet detailing the week’s drills, and lots of great giveaways.
