The South Wind on the Ocean is located at 5310 North Ocean Boulevard in an exclusive north-end section of Myrtle Beach. The resort is within close proximity to area shopping, dining, amusements, attractions, watersports, nightlife and so much more. Our knowledgeable staff can help you book a round of golf at any of the over 100 golf courses along the Grand Strand, including the famed Dunes Golf and Beach Club, which is ranked annually among the top 50 courses in the United States. The South Wind on the Ocean staff will help you plan your day or evening in Myrtle Beach, SC and can offer discount tickets to virtually all of Myrtle Beach’s top attractions and theaters.

Policies:
Check in time is 4 pm or later. Check out time is before 11 am. The credit card used for the deposit must be presented at check-in, with matching photo ID. One responsible adult, 21 years or older per unit. Pets are not allowed. A fine of $500 will be assessed if a pet is brought into a unit. Service animals are not considered pets when required to perform a specific duty for the owner, and must be registered at the front desk at check-in. Emotional support animals however are considered pets and are not allowed at any time. An additional $10 per person, per night may be added for adults ages 17 or older; kids 16 or younger stay free within maximum occupancy. Cribs are available on a first come, first serve basis at check in. Photo identification and credit card or cash deposits are required upon check-in for incidental charges. All special requests are subject to availability upon check-in. A $200 credit card pre-authorization is required at check-in as a security deposit. Pre-Authorization, less any charges, released upon check out. Availability of funds may vary based upon your financial institution and account type and may take 10+ days.
A $10/night per vehicle registration fee will be charged at check-in. Due to parking restrictions, motorcycles, trailers and related equipment are not allowed on property. Limit 1 vehicle registered per one and two bedroom units and limit 2 per unit three bedrooms or larger. The first nights room and tax as well as any additional services for the first night of your stay will be charged to your credit card to guarantee your reservation. Total includes room, resort, booking, destination marketing fees, and taxes as well as any purchased additional services. Taxes and fees subject to change.
Your remaining balance is due upon check in** and can be paid via major credit card* or debit card. Credit or debit cards must have a VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express logo and must be imprinted with the cardholder’s name; matching photo ID must also be presented. We are unable to accept checks, money orders, cash, pre-paid cards, gift cards or foreign currencies. *A 2.5% convenience fee will be added at check in for credit card payments, however this fee is waived for debit card payments. **Some packages/special offers may have different deposit/payment requirements. South Wind on the Ocean's Vacation Interruption Protection (VIP) Plan
Add South Wind on the Ocean's Vacation Interruption Protection (VIP) Plan to your reservation in order to protect your vacation investment (call for pricing details!). The VIP Plan can be purchased at the time of booking or within 24 hours of booking, and will offer you the following great benefits to give you complete peace of mind before and during your hard earned vacation:
-Cancel any time up to 7 days prior to arrival and your deposit will be refunded in full
-Make changes to your reservation as you need*
By declining the VIP Plan, you understand that the following will apply to your reservation:
-The reservation deposit is non-refundable
-Any changes made to the reservation, prior to arrival, will incur a $20 fee per change; changes include, but are not limited to date changes and room type changes*
*Any changes will require your booking to be re-calculated based on the current best available rate and the new actual length of stay. Date changes must be made up to 7 days prior to arrival.
VIP Plan is not valid with winter rental snowbird reservations, third-party reservations, or Advanced Purchase reservations. Other exclusions may apply.
Accidental Damage Protection
- The Accidental Damage Protection Plan is an optional fee that is $39.99.
- This plan provides coverage for up to $1,000 of accidental damage.
- This may include but is not limited to; furniture damage, scratches, scuffs or spills on carpet, bedspreads, broken lamp or scratches or scuffs to walls.
- This fee is non-refundable and is added to your balance.
- Any damage claim must be reported to the resort prior to check-out.
- The Accidental Damage Protection Plan does not cover intentional or malicious damage due to abuse or damage incurred while violating resort guidelines. For example, this may include but is not limited to smoking, pets, parties or other resort guidelines.
- If you opt to decline this optional coverage, a $200 preauthorization to a credit card will be required at check in to cover potential damage.

This condo is in a great location, is aesthetically pleasing from the outside, and pools and grassy area are nice. The inside of our condo needs significant upgrades to its beds, couches, and televisions. Box springs were broken and mattresses were severely worn and uneven. Also, the upper part of the rooms (i.e., lights, fans, ceiling) appeared to have not been clean in quite some time. Almost none of the remotes worked, and the tvs were small and outdated. The room has all the makings to be awesome, but it has become run down and needs an investment in it to upgrade the furnishings.

Rooms are well furnished and parking is very convenient. Housekeeping needs to give this complex a lot more priority instead of giving the priority to the resort next door.

I was told upon reservation and check-in that I could do a late check-out. On check out day I called to remind of my late check-out when I was told in a very rude & matter of fact way that late chevk out is never permitted. I planned on taking my children to the pool thst morning and they were so disappointed.

11/14/2016We have stayed at South Wind on the Ocean resort twice in the past. Once when we took our granddaughter and her friend on vacation after graduation from high school. The girls really enjoyed the trip and especially being so close to the beach and the pools at the resort. The condo was fabulous and we all enjoyed the vacation. My husband and I went back a couple years later and got the same unit. Loved it! Looking forward to going again in the near future!
