Best Events This Year in Myrtle Beach

By Vacation Myrtle Beach

As 2013 comes to a close it is a great time to remember some of the great events that happened in Myrtle Beach this year.

4th of July
This year’s Fourth of July celebrations were some of the best ever! There was a fantastic fly-by conducted by some dedicated local pilots and enthusiasts. The regular air show that is normally performed by the Air Force was cancelled, but these folks refused to let the day go by without an aerial tribute to the U.S.A.

Myrtle Beach Turned 75
This year there was a big celebration for the entire Myrtle Beach community as the city celebrating 75 years of incorporation. In March, the city held a large party and festival near the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk to celebrate complete with free cupcakes for all attendees. There was live music, vendors and more to help mark this milestone for the city. They even broke a world record for the tallest tower of cupcakes!

Easter in Myrtle Beach
Easter is a growing holiday for Myrtle Beach, with lots of families taking time off to visit the beach, as well as students on break from school. It is always a great time of year to visit the beach since the weather is just beginning to warm up and that makes it a great time to explore some different areas of the beach. Plus, as this event has grown in popularity as a vacation time, more and more area attractions and businesses celebrate Easter. It was one of the highlights of the year for sure.

Thanksgiving and Christmas in Myrtle Beach
2013 also wrapped up this year with some of the largest collection of celebrations of the winter holidays ever. While there have always been a large number of restaurants, centers and more celebrating the holidays, this year there were more than ever before getting in the holiday spirit. From the wide array of Myrtle Beach hotels serving up Thanksgiving meals to the growing number of events and attractions holding special holiday hours, the 2013 holiday season in Myrtle Beach was one of the busiest and best around.

2013 was a great year for Myrtle Beach and we’re looking forward to spending 2014 with you!
