Blue Star Mothers Team Up with Broadway At The Beach During Summer 2019

Myrtle Beach will have another exciting reason to pop fireworks this summer. Broadway at the Beach will be joining the Blue Star Mothers of America as part of the Great American Summer Nights celebration. A blue star has come to mean there is currently a family member in active military service. This celebration at Broadway includes stilt walkers, fire dancers, a dance party, and fireworks. It not only honors summer, but the support that mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, and foster mothers give to each other while promoting patriotism and honoring their children in the military.

Visitors to Broadway at the Beach are invited to write a thank you note to the troops serving in the military at the Mail For Our Military corner in the Guest Services Center. Children are also invited to create cards and pictures that will be included in care packages to the troops. The cards serve as a reminder to our military they are fighting for the freedom and future of our children. With over 6,000 members from over 200 chapters, the troops are sure to feel the support.

Along with heartfelt words, the loose change will be collected all summer from the three fountains throughout the property to be donated as a monetary donation. Red, white, and blue souvenir bracelets will be available for a $1 donation to go towards the Blue Star Mothers mission. It will truly be Christmas in July this summer as Broadway at the Beach teams up with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves to host a Toys for Tots toy drive. All unwrapped gifts can be taken to the Guest Services Center throughout the month.

Red, white, and blue are not just appropriate for the Fourth of July. Broadway at the Beach makes it a yearly event to support our troops by offering military discounts at more than 80 vendors. Stop by Guest Services for a full list of businesses.

As you are enjoying the fireworks, dancing, and stilt walkers remember our freedom isn’t free and to support the men and women who fight for it every day. By visiting Broadway at the Beach this summer you are helping give back to our military.

You can experience fun entertainment every night of the week starting at 7 pm all summer long. Look for the fire dancers and drum line marching through center court and strolling the avenue.
