Crown Reef Resort Town Center in Myrtle Beach, SCThe latest addition in the $7.5 million renovation of Crown Reef Resort has opened its doors. The new 3,700-square-foot Town Center Dining, Entertainment and Fun Zone features four new amenities in one central location overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, including Loco Gecko Beach Shak, Grab n’ Go Grill & Coffee Bar, Swirl Ice Cream & Sweet Shop and Video Game & Redemption Center.

“We are excited for our guests to see all the exciting improvements and additions around the resort,” said Matt Klugman, marketing director of Crown Reef Resort. “We are sure these updates will make Crown Reef one of the most value-driven, family-friendly resorts in Myrtle Beach.”

Loco Gecko's second location in Myrtle Beach, SCThe Town Center is home to the second location of the Loco Gecko Beach Shak restaurant, one of the most popular beachside restaurants on the Grand Strand. The oceanfront restaurant features menu items such as pizza, salads, burgers and wraps, and caters to families with its fun décor. Plentiful seating is available indoors, on balconies and on a gazebo overlooking the ocean.

The Grab n’ Go Grill & Coffee Bar features both iced and hot premium coffee in a variety of styles for coffee lovers, as well as juice for kids. Serving options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the bar is a place to grab a quick bite to eat while enjoying oceanfront views.

“Being able to get a quick, delicious meal while at the beach is a service that we wanted to be able to provide to our guests in an easy-to-access location,” said Klugman. “Guests can either enjoy the indoor seating area with large windows overlooking the ocean or take their meal out to the beach.”

Nearby is the Swirl Ice Cream & Sweet Shop where families can enjoy a variety of ice cream flavors, as well as fill up bags of candy to purchase from dispensers. The Video Game & Redemption Center features more than 30 games that are played using a state-of-the-art card system. The system also tracks points earned, which are redeemable for a variety of prizes.

The 20-year-old Crown Reef, a beachside resort that offers the most oceanfront rooms in the Grand Strand, is nearing completion of its multi-million dollar renovation of its more than 500 oceanfront rooms. It will also be opening a waterpark in late spring, featuring two enclosed 4-story water slides, including the world’s first hotel “Explosion” slide.

The resort also has a fitness center and 13,000 square feet of space for meetings, banquets, weddings and events for groups from 25 to 1,200.
