Myrtle Beach Highland Games and Heritage Festival

An exciting event is making its way to Myrtle Beach again this year: The Saltwater Highland Games and Heritage Festival! The inaugural highland games and festival will saunter into Myrtle Beach clad in tartans and bagpipes on March 24th and 25th.

Event Details:
Where: North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex
When: March 24th & March 25th – The Highland Games – 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Always held the weekend following St. Patrick's Day, the Festival is full of activities that offer something for everyone and include Athletic Competitions, Clan Village, Celtic Marketplace, Scottish Whisky Tastings, Kid's Glen, Live Music & Entertainment, and many other exciting events.

Highland Games

The games, also called Heavy Athletics, will be demonstrated by professional men and women athletes. Some of the athletics performed will be: hammer throw, weight throw, and the caber toss. There will also be an area known as The Patron Games, where spectators can try their hand at “heavy athletics”. Make sure to bring your dancing shoes as well! You will be treated to a variety of music from several regional bagpipe bands!

New events this year include: a 5k Run, Quidditch Tournament, and Junior Athletic Competition for ages 13-15 and 16-18.

The festival is a fantastic event to take the whole family to, and you likely haven’t experienced a festival this unique in some time!
