Myrtle Beach Area Christmas & Holiday Season Events - 2021 Guide

If you are planning a vacation to Myrtle Beach this November or December, you will want to check out the various 2021 Christmas events, shows and festivities that are taking place in the Myrtle Beach area - including Murrells Inlet, Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, North Myrtle Beach, and Conway. We've compiled a list of the top area festivities to help you get ready for the holiday season.


One of the most anticipated events of the season will be Winter Wonderland at the Beach, new for 2021! Be sure to add this exciting event to your must-do list for your vacation:

Winter Wonderland at the Beach

  • Where: Burroughs & Chapin Pavilion Place by the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk
  • What: Daily event featuring an outdoor ice skating rink, holiday lights show that you can walk through and more! Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for kids (under 3 are free). Ice skating is $20 with skate rental (or $15 if you bring your own). 
  • When: November 26, 2021 to January 2, 2022 (closed Christmas Day)

Alabama Theatre Christmas Performers

The South’s Grandest Christmas Show

  • Where: Alabama Theatre, North Myrtle Beach
  • What: Holiday musical with special effects including traditional and contemporary Christmas songs.
  • When: Shows run from November 1, 2021 to January 1, 2022


Christmas at Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show

  • Where: Pirates Voyage
  • What: Retelling of A Christmas Carol (with pirates of course), live nativity scene, and a four-course holiday feast.
  • When: Shows in November and December, 2021


Carolina Opry’s The Christmas Show of the South

  • Where: The Calvin Gilmore Theater, Myrtle Beach 
  • What: A newly worked production every year, including vocalists, a holiday brass section, and beautiful decorations in the lobby, including more than 35 Christmas trees.
  • When: Shows run from November 1, 2021 to January 5, 2022


A Magical Christmas and Comedy Show

  • Where: GTS Theatre
  • What: Be entertained by award-winning magician, Michael Bairefoot with this seasonal magic and comedy show.  
  • When: Tuesdays & Fridays in November and December, 2021 (except December 24 & 31)


Original Motown Christmas Tribute Show

  • Where: GTS Theatre
  • What: This two-hour show features soul and holiday music of the 60’s and 70’s with a variety of hits.
  • When: Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays in November and select dates through December 29, 2021


Joy To The World

  • Where: Theatre of the Republic
  • What: Holiday songs and more at the historic theater in Conway.
  • When: December 9-12 & 16-19, 2021


Christmas with Elvis Starring Alex Mitchell

  • Where: GTS Theare
  • What: Enjoy renditions of Elvis’ classic hits as well as Christmas songs. Perfect for all ages.
  • When: November 9 & 16, December 7, 14, 21 and 28, 2021 at 2 p.m.


2021 Myrtle Beach Christmas Parades


Christmas Ornament37th Annual Intracoastal Christmas Regatta

  • Where: Little River Inlet (5 p.m.) to Dock Holidays Marina (7 p.m.)
  • What: Watch from anywhere along the waterway as the boat parade passes.  Consider bringing a new toy for donation collection at Harbourgate Marina or collection points in Littler River & North Myrtle Beach.
  • When: November 27, 2021 at 5 p.m.


North Myrtle Beach Christmas Parade

  • Where: Main Street, North Myrtle Beach (from Bilo to Ocean Blvd.)
  • What: Evening parade featuring lighted floats and more!
  • When: December 4, 2021 at 5:30 p.m.


Surfside Beach Christmas Parade

  • Where: Ocean Boulevard/Surfside Drive in Surfside Beach
  • When: December 11, 2021 at 2 p.m.


Barefoot Landing Holiday Golf Cart Parade

  • Where: Barefoot Landing
  • When: December 12, 2021 at 3 p.m.


Surfside Beach Resident Golf Cart Christmas Parade

  • Where: Surfside Beach
  • When: December 18, 2021 at 1 p.m.

Nights of a Thousand Candles Brookgreen Gardens

The Great Christmas Light Show

  • Where: North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex
  • What:  Drive through light show with 2 million lights, and Santa's village with petting zoo, fire pits, train rides, visits with Santa and more!
  • When: Drive Through Light Show is November 22 through December 30, 2021 (Closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, and Christmas Day, December 25) from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. | Santa’s Village is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday ONLY from November 26 through December 12. Open Nightly December 16 through 30 (Closed on Christmas Day).


Nights of a Thousand Candles

  • Where: Brookgreen Gardens, Murrells Inlet
  • What:  2,800 hand-lit candles and thousands of lights decorate a beautiful sculpture and botanical garden.  Enjoy live entertainment, refreshments, and carolers. Each evening also features a tree lighting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets must be pre-purchased and space is limited.
  • When: November 26-28, December 2-5, 9-12, 16-19, 29-31, 2021 and January 1-2, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Christmas Tree

Broadway at the Beach Tree Lighting

  • Where: Broadway at the Beach
  • What: Fireworks, tree lighting, performances and more!
  • When: November 13, 2021 at 6 p.m. with fireworks at 8 p.m. | After the tree lighting and throughout the holiday season, the Broadway at the Beach tree will feature a synchronized music and light show that reoccurs every 30 minutes from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily.


Barefoot Landing Lighting of the Landing

  • Where: Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach
  • What:  Fireworks, tree lighting and more
  • When: November 20, 2021 at 6 p.m. with fireworks at 7 p.m.


Market Common Tree Lighting

  • Where: The Market Common
  • What: Santa, carolers, vendors, complimentary carriage rides and more.
  • When: November 20, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.


North Myrtle Beach Christmas Tree Lighting

  • Where: McLean Park
  • What: An appearance from Santa and kid-friendly activities, performances and refreshments.
  • When: November 30, 2021 at 6 p.m.


City of Conway Tree Lighting

  • Where: Downtown Conway
  • What: Tree lighting followed by visits with Santa.
  • When: December 2, 2021 at 6 p.m.


Surfside Beach Christmas Tree Lighting

  • Where: Memorial Park
  • When: December 4, 2021 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.


Tree Lighting in the Garden

  • Where: Garden of Hope, 1395 Carver Street, Myrtle Beach
  • What: Live music, hot chocolate, Santa photo ops and more.
  • When: December 5, 2021 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Christmas Cookies and CocoaDickens Christmas Show & Festivals

  • Where: Myrtle Beach Convention Center
  • What: Santa, entertainment, and shopping with vendors in historic costuming.  
  • When: November 11 to 14, 2021


Dashing Through The Glow

  • Where: North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex
  • What: 2-mile fun run and walk through the Great Christmas Light Show in North Myrtle Beach.
  • When: November 19, 2021


Treasured Holiday Memories Exhibit

  • Where: The Rosen Galleries at Brookgreen Gardens
  • What: Visit this special holiday exhibit during your Brookgreen Gardens visit. It will feature traditional trains, kids’ toys, trees, mini lighted houses and more.
  • When: November 20, 2021 to January 2, 2022


Wreath Making Workshop

  • Where: J Bryan Floyd Community Center in Myrtle Beach
  • What: Head over to the community center for a hands-on class on making your very own Christmas wreath. Greenery will be provided, however, participants should come equipped with their own wreath form (straw is preferred).
  • When: December 2, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.


Barefoot Queen Riverboat Polar Express Cruise

  • Where: Barefoot Queen Riverboat by Barefoot Landing
  • What: Put on your Christmas pajamas and indulge in the Christmas spirit with this cruise that includes The Polar Express Story, a visit from Santa, holiday snacks and more!
  • When: December 2, 3, 4, 10, 16, 17, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.


7th Annual Santa Crawl on the MarshWalk

  • Where: MarshWalk of Murrells Inlet
  • What: Restaurants along the MarshWalk will be featuring holiday beverages, dinner specials and more. Dress up in your Christmas costume for a chance to win the costume contest. Winners will be announced at 9:30 p.m. and you must be present to win!
  • When: December 11, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.


Polar Bus Express

  • Where: The Market Common
  • What: Hop aboard The Big Red Bus featuring sounds from the movie as travelers go to the “North Pole” at The Market Common. The ride includes a souvenir golden ticket, sleigh bell, chocolate chip cookies and complimentary hot chocolate following the ride. Saint Nicholas may also make an appearance!
  • When: December 3, 4, 11, 17, 18 & 22, 2021


Rivertown Christmas Celebration

  • Where: Various Downtown Conway locations
  • When/What: December 9, 2021 will feature living window displays, visits with Santa, carriage rides, Curtis the camel and live music performances. December 16, 2021 will feature a snowfall park, Santa, carriage rides and a Christmas cruise-in. | 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.


Breakfast with Santa – Surfside Beach

  • Where: Golden Egg Restaurant
  • When: December 18, 2021 at 9 a.m.


Pelicans Ballpark Christmas Fireworks Extravaganza

  • Where: Pelicans Ballpark
  • What: Photos with Santa, Christmas videos, arts/crafts, fireworks and more! Entrance fee applies.
  • When: December 10, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
