The New Twelve 33 Distillery Brings Spirit to the Myrtle Beach Area

By Alexx Altman

Twelve 33 Distillery Little RiverSomething new is brewing in the Myrtle Beach area that will have locals and visitors drinking for joy. Craft distillery Twelve 33 is the first of its kind along the Grand Strand to create a “grain to glass” locally sourced gin, vodka, rum, bourbon, and whiskey. The unique name derives from the date the prohibition officially ended, December 1933.

Twelve 33 is located in the nearby Little River, SC and provides tastings and tours Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 7 pm. Visit their upscale tasting room and enjoy a tasting flight of their handcrafted spirits. Spirit Guides will explain the process that goes into distilling craft spirits and the details of each spirit you sample. If you can’t sip it straight, a head mixologist will create signature cocktails that showcase each of their spirits.

A list of their spirits include:

  • Intemperance vodka
  • Jo-Jo Gin
  • 3 Peppers Vodka
  • Big Six Straight Bourbon Whiskey
  • Restitution Rye Whiskey
  • Mullet Creek Rum (inspired by the Rum Runners in Little River, SC)
  • Crusader Spiced Rum

If you are the curious type, go behind the scenes and take a guided tour of the distillery. Explore the origin and composition of different spirits, fermentation, distillation, blending and bottling. The VIP tour includes the hidden speakeasy where you will be transported back to the 1930s. As a souvenir, bottles of Twelve 33 Distillery spirits are available in their retail shop along with merchandise including apparel, hats, barware, mixers, and more.

Relax and enjoy a classy drink from Twelve 33 after you melt away your worries in the sun. Be transported back in time and enjoy an old fashioned, bloody mary, or their personal cocktail “Smells Like Vacation.”

Enjoy your vacation in Myrtle Beach and make sure to visit Twelve 33 distillery after you book your stay with Vacation Myrtle Beach.
