What’s the Weather Like in April

By Samantha Norton Follow me on Google+

The weather is starting to turn distinctly warm in April. The temperature trends toward the high 60s and low 70s with some days in the mid to upper 80s! Warm weather brings back all of our favorite activities we have had to put away for winter.

The most popular thing to do at the beach is of course going to the beach.  The average water temperature is around 68 degrees, so maybe still a little chill for a prolonged dip, but that is the perfect temperature to cool off after laying in the sun or partaking in some beach volleyball! Tip: Don’t forget to lather up in sunscreen. Just because it isn’t 90 degrees doesn’t mean you can’t burn.

Outdoor attractions start to open up in April as well. Family Kingdom amusement park opens early April and is sure to thrill your family. Family Kingdom has six new rides to keep your kids entertained all day! They welcome the Twist ‘N Shout roller coaster, featuring a wild mouse style, you can soar through the air like Superman on the Kite Flyer ride or ride the Frog Hopper and hold on while the frog bounces around trying to catch flies.

Local events will be all over the place to take advantage of the warm weather.

  • April 9th Fifth Annual Grand Strand Tech Expo
  • April 12th & April 13th is the 42nd Annual Art in the Park at Market Common
  • April 19th is Earth Day Music Fest and Expo in Downtown Conway
