Best Dishes at Dirty Don’s Oyster Bar and Grill

Dirty Don’s Oyster Bar & Grill has been a Myrtle Beach area staple for years but they have recently expanded and now have two locations, one on 21st Ave. North in Myrtle Beach and one on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, which offers great views of the ocean. Aside from great locations, this restaurant has some of the best food around. But with a menu that features so many different items and many of them seafood related deciding what you should order to get the best experience can be tricky. But here are some of the best items on the Dirty Don’s menu so that you’ll be the subject of order envy.

Oyster Dinner-When a place has “oysters” in the name you can be pretty sure that ordering oysters will be a safe bet- as long as you like oysters, of course! The Oyster Dinner at Dirty Dons gives you a large portion of oysters cooked anyway you’d like- grilled, fried or blackened- served alongside French fries, coleslaw and hush puppies. If you’re not sure about oysters they also offer the same great dinner choice with shrimp instead.

Dirty Don’s Fish Fry- A good way to avoid ordering the wrong thing is to order something that has a little bit of everything. The Dirty Don’s Fish Fry has fried shrimp, oysters, scallops, grouper and a crab cake, all served with French fries, coleslaw and hush puppies. This is a great choice for diners who are hungry and can’t decide between a few different options on the menu.

Shrimp and Grits- Shrimp and Grits is a southern staple and if you have never had it before then you need to try it, especially at Dirty Don’s where it’s a specialty. You get lots of grits, plump shrimp and sausage covered in gravy made from a special recipe that will have you scraping the bottom of the bowl for sure. Your order also comes with some garlic bread to help you get at all that goodness.

Burger- If you’re not really a huge fan of oysters, shrimp or other seafood you’re in luck because Dirty Dons also has some great burger options that are sure to please those who are looking for a land-loving meal. All the burgers are ½ lb of grade A ground beef and you can stick to the standard option of a burger with lettuce, tomato, onion or add cheese or bacon or go for one of the other burger options that add some more upgraded toppings like mushrooms and Swiss cheese or cheddar cheese and jalapeño.

Any of the Dirty Dons locations will serve up great food and a great atmosphere, plus they’re all located close to some of the Vacation Myrtle Beach resorts.
