Highland Games

The games, also called Heavy Athletics, will be demonstrated by professional men and women athletes. Some of the athletics performed will be: hammer throw, weight throw, and the caber toss. There will also be an area known as The Patron Games, where spectators can try their hand at “heavy athletics”.

Other notable areas of interest are:

  • The Kids Glen, where there will be tons of games for kids of all ages to experience the rich history of the highlands.
  • The Celtic Marketplace, where you can shop for authentic and themed wares.
  • The Food Court where you will be able to try traditional highland fare like haggis, meat pies and bangers; there will also be your favorite American festival foods available.

Make sure to bring your dancing shoes as well! You will be treated to a variety of music from several regional bag pipe bands, the Celtic rock group Tuatha Dea, the band SYR and more!

The festival is a fantastic event to take the whole family to, and you likely haven’t experienced a festival this unique in some time! Book your favorite Myrtle Beach resort and get ready to have some fun!
