Myrtle Beach Pelicans Name New Vice President and General Manager

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans have named Andy Milovich as their new vice president and general manager.

The minor league baseball team, located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, placed Milovich in the position to oversee this popular team beginning in mid-January. Originally from South Bend, Indiana, Milovich has 23 years of experience as an executive in the minor leagues. His most recent experience comes from being the executive vice president of Palisades Baseball in Charleston, West Virginia.

He has received various awards in the field including 1997 Sporting News Minor League Executive of the Year and the 2000 New York-Penn League Executive of the Year. In addition to awards and recognitions for clubs he has managed, he helped open new baseball parks in Erie, Pennsylvania, Mahoning Valley, Ohio, and West Virginia.

Milovich has a degree in business administration and sports management from Valparaiso University and a master’s degree in sports management from the University of Georgia. He has worked for various teams across the country since starting as an intern in 1990 with the South Bend White Sox. He will be relocating to Myrtle Beach with his wife Cher and their two daughters. The 2013 Pelicans Baseball season will begin on April 4 with a game against the Wilmington Blue Rocks.
