Operation Happily Ever After Helps Military Couple This Weekend

By Vacation Myrtle Beach

The big day is fast approaching for Kara Silvey and Kris Machauf.

This Saturday, wounded veteran SPC Kara and Kris will tie the knot thanks to Operation Happily Ever After.

Through the Operation Happily Ever After Facebook page, the couple and organizers have been updating supporters of the project on the planning and progress for the big day.

With the help of Sea Watch Resort, and numerous other vendors and businesses, their perfect day will become a reality. The wedding day will be preceded by the Friday evening rehearsal at Sea Watch and the rehearsal dinner at Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach. Then, on Saturday, Sea Watch Resort will be the host of the ceremony and reception.

All items for the wedding are being provided for the couple through business donations, including her wedding dress, floral bouquets, tuxedos, boutonnieres, photography and video service, and magical little touches like a horse-drawn carriage ride and steel drum entertainment.

The event sponsor list is long, and includes both local and non-local businesses. Sea Watch is very excited to help promote such a wonderful event where Myrtle Beach businesses are coming together to support members of our military. Sponsors include Sea Watch Resort, Alabama Theater, Ripley’s Aquarium, Biddle Law Firm, Wayne’s View Photography, and so many more! Together, the sponsors have contributed more than $50,000 worth of goods and services.

Plans are already being made for next year’s Operation Happily Ever After wedding, and the group is already taking on sponsors for the next event.
