RESTAURANT/KITCHEN MANAGER

Sea Watch Resort is seeking a Restaurant/Kitchen Manger. The Restaurant/Kitchen Manager will be responsible for kitchen operations including provisioning, food preparation, inventories, ordering and sanitation. This position directs the training of kitchen workers and servers; engaging in preparation, cooking, and serving to ensure an efficient and profitable food service. The position demands creativity on a daily basis, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain the highest of culinary standards. The Restaurant/Kitchen Manager works well under pressure, is organized, flexible, self-motivated and is willing to work long hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five years of cooking experience.
  • Serve Safe Certified.
  • Prefer two to three years of fine dinging experience.
  • Prefer banquet experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.
  • Previous supervisory/management skills and experience.


PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

  • CUSTOMER SERVICE: Personally demonstrate a commitment to customer service by inquiring about service quality and responding promptly to guest needs. Promptly handle guest complaints. Fill in for staff when necessary to ensure customer satisfaction. Ensure staff, including all new hires, are trained to meet standards.
  • FINANCIAL: Manage department within budget. Anticipate revenue/cost problems and report all discrepancies to the Food and Beverage Director. Ensure department staff is trained in control procedures as outlined by Internal Audit.
  • PEOPLE: Manage people according to VMB’s values. Maintain a positive, cooperative work environment between staff and management. Mange safety program to protect guests and employees and which meets OSHA requirements.
  • QUALITY: Have knowledge of restaurant standards and hold employees accountable for consistently meeting these standards. Maintain favorable health department scores.
  • MANAGING THE BUSINESS: Assist in the preparation of the F&B budget. Adjust inventory, department labor schedules, staff assignments, and supplies based upon demand without loss in quality service.

ASSISTANT HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER

Sea Watch Resort is seeking an experienced Assistant Housekeeping Manager. This is a full time, mid-management position requiring someone with resort experience, supervising housekeepers and completing room inspections. QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.

Two years prior housekeeping management experience.

Read, write and speak English fluently.

The ability to communicate in Spanish is helpful.

Knowledge of inventories, scheduling, and productivity.

High school math level required.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

CUSTOMER SERVICE: Deliver the best service, quality and value to every customer, every time. Maintain customer satisfaction as the driving philosophy of the Housekeeping department. Personally demonstrate a commitment to customer service by responding promptly to guest needs. Commit to satisfying every guest. Ensure your staff, including all new hires, is trained to meet standards. Empower Housekeeping staff to deliver customer service by encouraging and rewarding responsive guest assistance.

FINANCIAL: Manage department within budget. Accurately forecast expenses. Prepare annual departmental budget that accurately reflects the department’s operations plan. Analyze financial and operating information on an ongoing basis in order to adjust labor, supplies, materials and other costs to achieve budget. Ensure department staff is trained in control procedures as outlined by Internal Audit, and that these procedures are consistently followed.

PEOPLE: Manage people according to VMB’s values. Manage human resources functions including recruiting, selection, orientation, training, performance reviews, and pay and recognition programs to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce. Maintain a positive, cooperative work environment between staff and management. Emphasize training and development as a way of doing business in order to empower employees to successfully perform their jobs. Help to develop management talent by acting as a mentor for direct reports. Resolve employee grievances fairly and timely. Ensure employees fully understand performance standards, review process, and reward successes. Manage safety program to protect guests and employees and which meets OSHA requirements. Use ongoing safety plan to minimize workers’ compensation claims.

QUALITY: Maintain physical product standards by routinely inspecting rooms, public areas and laundry facilities to ensure proper working condition and departmental supplies are stocked at proper levels. Submit work orders to the maintenance department on a timely basis and follow up to ensure completion. Justify requests for capital projects using ROI. Manage security procedures such as key control and lost and found.

Constantly. Coordinate with Director of Housekeeping, General Manager and Chief Engineer in the repair and maintenance program as related to guestrooms and public areas.

Constantly. Demonstrate positive leadership, which inspires employees to meet and exceed standards.

Constantly. Maintain work areas neat and organized.

Constantly. Maintain inventory of guestrooms and housekeeping supplies including all month-end inventories.

Constantly. Promote employee empowerment.

Constantly. Report all unsafe conditions immediately.

Constantly. Select, train, supervise, schedule, develop, discipline, and counsel employees according to VMB policies and procedures.

Frequently. Attends as well as schedules and conducts departmental meetings.

Frequently. Completes reports (i.e., forecasts, annual budgets, action plans, etc.).

Frequently. Coordinates all the needs of the Housekeeping department.

Frequently. Follow through on guest complaints and requests regarding room services and ensure the appropriate follow-up with guests.

Frequently. Inspect property guestrooms, linen rooms, public areas, and all office space to ensure company standards of housekeeping are being maintained.

Frequently. Purchase all basic cleaning supplies, linen, and equipment.

Occasionally. Conduct performance appraisals.

OTHER JOB DUTIES

Constantly. Maintain lost and found.

Frequently. Coordinate training for new employees.

Frequently. Perform in the capacity of any person supervised to include cross training.

Frequently. Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Occasionally. Inspect rooms for VIP arrivals.

HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR

This is a Regular, Full-time, mid-management positions requiring someone with resort experience, supervising housekeepers and completing room inspections. Must be available to work weekends and a 8:30AM – 4:30PM shift five days a week. Must be flexible to work weekends and holidays. SeaWatch Resort is seeking Room Attendants  for our Housekeeping Department. This position is responsible for cleaning privately owned condominiums at the resort. Applicants must be available to work a 8:30AM -- 4:30PM shift, five days per week working weekends and holidays is required.
