Captain’s Quarters Resort and Hotel Blue Contribute $2,000 to Local Breast Cancer Charity

In the latter part of 2011 Hotel Blue and Captain's Quarters Resorts combined to raise $2,000 to benefit Caring In Our Lifetime, a local breast cancer support group, through a program in which guests made donations at check in and each resort made matching contributions.

Caring In Our Lifetime provides financial assistance for medical expenses for women diagnosed with breast cancer.  Being run 100% by volunteers, an astonishing 95% of all contributions go directly to assisting survivors.  Resort marketing director Matt Klugman was on hand for the check presentation, "We are honored to be working on behalf of our own local breast cancer support organization Caring In Our Lifetime as they work right here in our own community.  Our goal is to help raise both money and awareness for this wonderful organization."

Recently the fight against breast cancer was brought very close to home for those at each property when one of the founding owners of our resorts and cornerstone of the Myrtle Beach tourism community - Mrs. Patricia Johnston - was diagnosed with breast cancer.  Thanks to organizations such as Caring In Our Lifetime advancing the care for breast cancer patients we are confident that Mrs. Johnston will overcome this terrible disease.
