Hurricane Season Safety Tips for Myrtle Beach Vacationers

By Vacation Myrtle Beach

Hurricane Season in Myrtle Beach runs from June 1 through November 30. Other Myrtle Beach Vacationers might be worried about what will happen to their vacation plans if a storm comes through, but Vacation Myrtle Beach guests don’t have to worry about that!

Vacation Myrtle Beach is so confident that guests will get to enjoy their full vacation that if weather interrupts your stay, you not only get refunded on the balance of your stay, but you also get a coupon for a free night!

There has only been one evacuation on the Grand Strand since 1999, so while it is a risk, there is a very slim chance your vacation will be interrupted.

The Vacation Myrtle Beach weather guarantee will allow guests staying in the area while there is a hurricane warning or voluntary evacuation to get a refund of their stay’s balance or apply it to a future stay.

If there is a mandatory evacuation, guests will be refunded their remaining stay balance AND get a coupon for a free night.

In the unlikely event that you happen to be staying at one of the Vacation Myrtle Beach resorts when a hurricane is expected, here are a few things to keep handy or in your car, just in case.

  • A flashlight with spare batteries
  • A portable radio with spare batteries
  • Sleeping bags or blankets
  • Can and bottle openers, candles, matches (in a waterproof container), paper plates and utensils
  • Soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, napkins
  • A first aid kit and any prescription medicines
  • A change of clothing
  • Cash
  • Bottled water
  • Granola bars or other non-perishable snacks
