Myrtle Beach Bucket List

Are you visiting Myrtle Beach soon? Take a look at our must-do Myrtle Beach bucket list!

Vacation just isn’t the same if there isn’t a beach involved! Lucky for you and us we have miles and miles of golden, sandy beaches and the Atlantic Ocean. In our opinion, the best part about the beach is it is 100% FREE to enjoy! Grab your family, swim suits and towels and spend a whole day in nature’s beauty.

Myrtle Beach Pier(s)

Myrtle Beach is ripe with piers, so during your next visit you have to get out on one! Many of the area piers do charge $1 for general maintenance and upkeep, but the stunning views off the end of a pier will take your breath away. Our favorite pier is 2nd Avenue Pier! Not only is it a wooden work of art, but there is also a restaurant AND open air-rooftop bar.

Huntington Beach State Park

This natural haven features salt marshes, one of the world’s most productive eco-systems! Are you a bird lover? You can find over 300 species here! For those more interested in the exciting wildlife, yes you will see alligators! Huntington Beach State Park has three different nature trails, and one is two miles long. So put on your walking shoes and get ready to explore. This is a perfect low cost activity to keep your kids busy as well as their brains buzzing! Admission to the park is just $5 per adult and $3 per child. Ages 5 and under are free.

Oceanfront Dining

Myrtle Beach has stellar dinging options and many of them are oceanfront. What can be better than dining with a view? Two of our favorites are Sea Captain’s House and Pier House Restaurant. Sea Captain’s House is located at 3002 N. Ocean Blvd, and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. They are known for their She Crab Soup and delectable hush puppies! Sea Captain’s also has a great gluten free and vegetarian menu. Pier House Restaurant, located at the beginning of 2nd Avenue Pier, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and are known for their Socastee Shrimp and Grits, with a unique “red eye gravy”. Bonus: Pier House Restaurant is a VMB Card Partner! Get either 50% off an appetizer with a purchase of two entrees, or get a free basket of fries or onion rings with a purchase of $25 or more!

Area Attractions

Brookgreen Gardens needs to be on your to-do list for your next visit! Take a tour through the lush gardens, view the amazing sculptures or peruse the zoo all at your own pace! Save $1 off up to four adult tickets with your VMB Card! The SkyWheel is another crowd pleaser! Take a ride in an all enclosed, heated or air conditioned based on season, oceanfront gondola you won’t forget! Use your VMB card to get $1 off your flight, valid for up to six people. The views are one of a kind as you float above the ocean. Tip: Take your ride at sunset for an awe-inspiring experience.
