When planning a trip to Myrtle Beach for your vacation, you will want to make sure you bring all the essentials as well as other helpful items that will make your vacation easier and even more fun.

Bring the Basics

These are items for the road or plane, and everyday essentials that you shouldn’t be without that will be the foundation of your Myrtle Beach packing list:

If flying, plane tickets
Chargers
Comfortable, weather-appropriate attire
Comfortable shoes and sandals or flip-flops
Personal ID
Cash
Debit or Credit Cards
Toiletries
Masks
Hand sanitizer

Packing List for the Beach

When it comes to the beach, there are essential packing items and then there are extras that will enhance the beach-going experience.

We’ll start with the essentials first:

Sunscreen
Towel
Sunglasses
Water bottle
Bathing Suit
Hat

Whether you’re traveling with family or friends, these beach extras will only improve your beach day experience:

Beach Chair
Beach Umbrella
Cooler
Portable radio
Camera
Drinks and snacks (no glass bottles)
Baby powder (to help keep sand off)
Beach toys, buckets, and shovels
Beach blanket
Beach games (bocce ball, corn hole, football, volleyball, frisbee, etc.)

We recommend using a large beach bag or tote to make it easier to carry items to and from the beach. If you’re flying and not able to bring some of these items with you, don’t fret! Myrtle Beach has dozens of beach shops where you can purchase extras and essentials listed here.

Packing List for the Pool

Select Myrtle Beach resorts offer more than just a place for you to sleep. Chances are, your accommodations will include water amenities like pools, lazy rivers, or whirlpools. Some even have their own waterparks!

Make sure you have these items ready for your pool day:

Cash, debit, credit card, or room key, depending on your resort of choice (for snacks at the pool bar!)

Packing List for Shopping and Sightseeing

Whether you’re visiting the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, Barefoot Landing, The Market Common, or Broadway at the Beach, you’re going to be doing a lot of strolling, so you’re going to want to be comfortable. Be sure to include these items in your packing list:

Whether you’re visiting in September, October, or November, the Myrtle Beach weather this time of year is typically pleasant, so vacationers are typically still comfortable wearing sandals, shorts, and a short-sleeve shirt.
