Myrtle Beach SkyWheel: VMB Partner Spotlight

One of the main attractions on a Myrtle Beach vacation, and certainly the tallest at 187 feet, is the Skywheel, a giant Ferris wheel that opened on May 20, 2011.

The Skywheel is located close to Pier 14 and the focus of the downtown Myrtle Beach boardwalk.

The Myrtle Beach Skywheel has 42 gondolas that are climate controlled to make sure you can relax while taking in the expansive views of Myrtle Beach. Each gondola takes up to six passengers and is covered with a non-reflective glass, making it easy to take photos and videos. One of the gondolas also has a glass floor and leather seats and is reserved for VIPs.

The Skywheel is particularly appealing at night. There are more than 1 million computer controlled LED lights along the exterior of the wheel. The wheel flashes different colors and patterns every night.
