One many exciting reasons to visit Myrtle Beach is getting to see and experience everything new in Myrtle Beach. Every year the area introduces new restaurants, shows, shopping, attractions, flights, and more!

Shows & Attractions

Illumination Exhibit Broadway at the BeachIllumination Park: An Art Experience at The Hangout: Now open for the summer, this unique art installation will be located at the lawn across from The Hangout Restaurant (in Key West Village) at Broadway at the Beach. This installation will feature an array of artwork that can be viewed any time of the day, however, be sure to check it out in the evening to see the full experience of the illumination! It will include Electric Dandelions, Evanescent, a lighted colorful crab sculpture, and The Cloud Swings – an interactive portion of the exhibit, making it a great photo-op! Be sure to check out this free exhibit during your Myrtle Beach vacation!

 

K1 Speed (Coming Soon): Located on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach, this facility will feature indoor electric go-kart racing (up to nearly 45 mph!) with adult and junior options as well as a restaurant, arcade, pool tables and more. It’s a perfect indoor option for the family for any time of the year.

 

Myrtle Beach Boardwalk Updates (In Progress): This $3.7 million renovation is providing updates to the decking of the iconic Boardwalk, ensuring the Boardwalk will be in place for generations to come. The Boardwalk is open during these updates. Come check out the new look!

 

Riga-Tony's Murder Mystery Dinner Show: A new dinner-theater show is coming to Myrtle Beach! The experience features a 1930’s mobster theme paired with tasty Italian food and an immersive show. Riga-Tony is open just off North Kings Highway.

 

Surfside Beach Pier (Coming Soon): In the process of being completely reimagined, this completely renovated pier is located just south of Myrtle Beach. The pier will be 800 feet long and 25 feet high. It will be a popular spot for fishing as well as for a stroll with beach views. It will feature retail space, a restaurant and a bait shop.

 

Surfworks Surf Park (Coming 2023): Slated to arrive in Myrtle Beach in 2023 by the Myrtle Beach Sports Center, Surfworks Surf Park is planning to feature a surf lagoon, kids’ splash pad, training tent, bungalows, volleyball courts, skatepark, viewing pier, restaurant, amphitheater and more! Surfworks will be South Carolina’s first surf park for learning, fun, and community.

 

Food & Drink

1229 Shine Market Common Restaurant

The Hangout: Now open at the Key West area of Broadway at the Beach, the 40,000-square-foot dining and fun center features delicious seafood dishes, burgers, tacos, appetizers, and more from their world-class kitchen. Not only do they dish out food, The Hangout also features an indoor and outdoor stage for live music, family-friendly dancing contests, sand pile, fire pits, outdoor games, and more. Guests can also peruse the retail store and enjoy unique art installations, such as a giant collection of Pez dispensers. This unique dining and fun option is sure to be a hit with the whole family!

 

1229 Shine: Located on Shine Avenue at Myrtle Beach’s Market Common district, this new restaurant coins itself as a coastal-inspired eatery. They are open for lunch and dinner daily and feature happy hour on weekdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. With indoor and outdoor seating, they have a unique, yet modern, décor featuring dishes such as Lobster Slider, Calamari Rings, Shine Burger, Edamame Falafel Burger, Fry Basket, Grilled Oysters, Ceviche, Cobb Salad, Tuna Crudo, and more. A gluten-free menu is also available.

 

Clearwater Oyster Bar & Grill: This new option is located on N Kings Hwy in the Restaurant Row area of Myrtle Beach with scenic Intracoastal Waterway views. A great choice for the seafood enthusiast, they feature fresh oysters, lobster, shrimp, blue crabs, and a catch of the day. Have a boat or jet ski? Just pull up to their waterway dock and head inside.

 

Dagwood’s Deli & Sports Bar: A much-loved local hangout for over 30 years, Dagwood’s has opened a new location in North Myrtle Beach. Located at 4200 Hwy 17 S, North Myrtle Beach, they offer mouth-watering options such as fried pickles, wings, quesadillas, award-winning chili, burgers, and more. Their deli options include a build-your-own choice, as well as cheesesteaks, jumbo sandwiches, and premium deli options.

 

East Coast Tea Bar: Located in Myrtle Beach’s Market Common, this new spot features fruit teas, milk teas, smoothies, and more. Add toppings such as popping pearls, fruit jellies, tapioca, and crystal boba for an interesting and delicious tea experience.

 

Kingston Bistro: A new Restaurant Row option on N Kings Hwy in Myrtle Beach, they feature the flavor of Balkan cuisine as well as traditional American flavors. Their dinner menu features options such as Meatballs (Kyufte), Infused Oysters, Gyuvech, Feta and spinach Pork and decadent Baklava for dessert. Lunch options include Shopska Salad, Honey Bourbon Chicken, Salmon Caprese and much more.

 

Tidal Creek Beer Garden Tanger Outlets Myrtle BeachTidal Creek Beer Garden: Following the opening of the Tidal Creek Brewhouse in Market Common in 2020, the Tidal Creek Beer Garden recently debuted at the Highway 17 Tanger Outlets location in 2022. It features craft beers from Tidal Creek Brewhouse as well as wine options, cider, and seltzers. The beers on tap may vary by current offerings but include options such as Breezy Blond, Grand Strand IPA, and Harmonic Hefeweizen. More beer gardens may be coming soon, so stay tuned!

 

Winna’s Kitchen: Located on Main Street in Myrtle Beach’s downtown and just a few blocks from the Boardwalk, this new restaurant features “relaxed, elevated, comfort food”. Primarily open for breakfast and lunch hours, their menu currently features options such as Cast Iron Omelet, Caprese Toast, The Castle Salad, Grains & Greens Bowl, and Shrimp & Grits, just to name a few, although selections can vary throughout the year based on the season and availability. Keep an eye out for special “Chef’s Menu” dinners offered with set courses and drink pairings. The restaurant also actively accepts donations in $5 increments to provide a meal for a person in need.

 

These are just a sampling of new restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area for 2022. Additional options that are either open or opening soon include Olive Tree Pizza & More, Tasty Crab House, Crazy Mexican Restaurante and Bar, Sarabella's Italian Deli, Noodles and Company, Heirloom Bistro, and Lava Korean BBQ. The dining options in the Myrtle Beach area are seemingly endless!

 

Shopping

There are several fun places to visit and shop near Myrtle Beach. Rent a car and drive to these amazing places mentioned below for a great shopping tour.

ShoppingFive Below (Coming Soon): A discount store is coming to Myrtle Beach at 10804 Kings Rd, Myrtle Beach at Arcadian Shores Commons. Geared towards teenagers and tweens, this shop features many items that cost just $1 to $5. Think fun, bright, and maybe a little crazy when it comes to products. If you have a tween or teen in your family be sure to check out this new shop!

 

JOANN Fabrics and Crafts (Coming Soon): This national brand will soon be adding a new shop in Myrtle Beach on Seaboard Street. A store well known for being a haven for crafters, you can find an array of products ranging from supplies for sewing to scrapbooking to painting and beyond.

 

Kohl’s: While not new to the Myrtle Beach area, a second location of the national retailer opened recently in North Myrtle Beach at 1407 Old Hwy 17 N. Shop to your heart’s desire for clothing, shoes, accessories, and more.

 

pOpshelf: Located at Seaboard Commons in Myrtle Beach, this new discount shop features home, kitchen, lawn and garden, arts & crafts, beauty, office supplies, toys, and more. Filled with deals and value-driven options, it’s a great shop to peruse the shelves, whether you have something in mind or not.

 

Salt Life Outlet: Located at the Highway 17 Tanger Outlets, this outlet option is new to Myrtle Beach. Browse options for surfing, fishing, diving, or just lounging on the beach. This ocean-themed shop features t-shirts, sunglasses, gear, and more.

  • Louisville, KY - Spirit Airlines
  • Manchester, NH - Spirit Airlines
  • Milwaukee, WI - Spirit Airlines

  • Rochester, NY - Spirit Airlines
