Penguins Are Coming To Myrtle Beach

Something New Is Diving In At Ripley’s Aquarium

Waddle over to Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach to meet the new African penguins arriving in early 2020. Ripley’s Penguin Playhouse is the largest expansion to Ripley’s Aquarium in 20 years. Welcoming the new colony is just the beginning of the Aquarium’s conservation efforts for African penguins.

The 5,500-square-foot penguin habitat will include floor-to-ceiling viewing glass and a 360-degree crawl tunnel for guests to walk through. New classrooms will allow guests to get up close and personal with these unique birds, and a brand-new Oceans of the World gallery with eight tanks will house new interesting fish from all over the world.

Along with the new additions, interact and even pet the adorable animals while learning about the species from staff experts and paint with penguins to take home a one-of-a-kind piece of footprint art. Pablo Chavez, General Manager, Ripley’s Aquarium of Myrtle Beach, says, the mission is to promote environmental education, conservation, and research while offering family-friendly entertainment for visitors of all ages.

Welcome the black-and-white colony to our warmer waters at 1100 Celebrity Circle at Broadway at the Beach. Stay at Forest Dunes Resort for a 10-minute drive to Ripley’s Aquarium.
