December is finally here – can you believe it? Get in the Christmas spirit with some of these exciting local events happening throughout the Grand Strand:

Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland | Myrtle Beach Pelicans | All Month Long Shadrack's Myrtle Beach
How would you like to view thousands of festive Christmas lights – all from the comfort of your own vehicle? You can do just that, and more, at Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland. This ride-through festive annual event utilizes advanced technology to orchestrate an impressive light show that syncs with holiday music that visitors can stream through the radio. Festival of Trees | Ripley’s Aquarium | Dec. 1st – 31st
Take in the holiday cheer and make a few new nautical friends at the annual Festival of Trees at the Ripley’s Aquarium. See the entire aquarium decked from top to bottom in ornate holiday decorations, including fifty individual trees decorated to represent each state across the nation. This fun festival runs from December 1st – 31st and admission includes all of the year-round exhibits and attractions as well. Call (800) 734-8888 for more information.

A Christmas Carol | Atlantic Stage | Dec. 1st – 27th
Atlantic Stage Theatre, Myrtle Beach’s only professional non-profit theatre, is proud to present “A Christmas Carol”, an annual tradition for many visitors and locals alike. For those unfamiliar, “A Christmas Carol” tells the story of human redemption and the true meaning of Christmas and is sure to warm the hearts of guests young and old. Admission ranges from only $12.50 - $27.50 and tickets can be purchased in advanced or the day of. Call (877) 287-8587 for more information.

Night of a Thousand Candles | Brookgreen Gardens | Dec. 4th-6th, 11th-13th, 18th-20th
As the name suggests, this enchanting event will showcase over 5,000 hand-lit candles scattered throughout the scenic gardens. Spread over almost 10,000 acres, Brookgreen is one of the nation’s only public sculpture gardens and this popular local attraction transforms into a magical Christmas wonderland for select weekends in the month of December. The pinnacle of this year’s event will be an 80-foot fir tree decorated with more than 60,000 lights, in addition to the themed gardens, traveling carolers, and hot cocoa and warm cider station. Holidays on the Boardwalk | Myrtle Beach Boardwalk | Ongoing
Don’t let the cool weather keep you in! For family friendly fun and excitement look no farther than the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. This mile-long oceanfront boardwalk is hosting several special events throughout the month to keep you in the holiday spirit. Events include:
• Saturday, December 6th – Santa meet & greet at Myrtle Beach SkyWheel and complimentary camel rides; free-entertainment on boardwalk oceanfront stages
• Friday, December 12th – Sidewalk prophets performance at 7pm
• Saturday, December 13th – Christmas in Dixie, hosted by The Bowery, throughout the day; Santa meet & greet and camel rides in the evening
• Saturday, December 20th – Santa meet & greet, complimentary rides on the Polar Express or camel rides; entertainment on both oceanfront stages downtown
• Sunday, December 21st – Family fun holiday games, candlelight caroling, complimentary hot chocolate and cookies
• Saturday, December 27th – Complimentary Polar Express or camel rides, live entertainment on boardwalk oceanfront stages

Breakfast with Santa | Hard Rock Café | Dec. 6th
Treat the little ones to a once in a lifetime breakfast with the big man himself on Saturday, December 6th at the Hard Rock Café. For only $9.95 / person, enjoy a decadent breakfast spread that will include all of your favorites like eggs, bacon and sausage, pancakes, pastries, and much more. The Nutcracker | Palace Theatre | Dec. 15th -16th & 21st-22nd
Coastal Youth Ballet will be performing their annual rendition of “The Nutcracker” at Palace Theatre on two select weekends before Christmas and you won’t want to miss out! The production will take place at Palace Theatre, at Broadway at the Beach, on December 15th – 16th and 21st – 22nd at 7pm. Sugarplums, soldiers, snowflakes, and the infamous Nutcracker are just a few of the familiar characters that guests can look forward to seeing. Call (843) 448-9224 for more information.

Christmas Towne | Myrtle Beach Convention Center | Dec. 14th
Looking for an afternoon filled with family friendly fun and activities? If so, look no farther than the Myrtle Beach Convention Center! Christmas Towne, an annual event, will take place on Sunday, December 14th from 2pm – 6:30pm and will offer meet and greets with Santa and Mrs. Claus, holiday games and activities, face painting, hot cocoa, and so much more. Stick around afterwards for the official Christmas tree lighting for the city of Myrtle Beach. Call (843) 916-7276 for more information.
