Things to do in Myrtle Beach in November 2024

Contrary to what you might believe, November is a busy month for Myrtle Beach as far as activities go. As the daily temperatures become milder, fall festivals and holiday events ramp up along the Grand Strand.

When you’re staying at a Vacation Myrtle Beach resort you may look for things to keep yourself and the family occupied that don’t involve spending a whole day on the beach—though temperatures might be warm enough for you to do just that!

Here are some fun and enjoyable things to do in Myrtle Beach in November of 2024:

 

22nd Annual Lip Rippin’ Chilympics Cook-off | November 3, 2024 | Murrells Inlet

Bowl of chiliCome ready to sample a variety of chili for the Chilympics cookoff! The event is at the Wicked Tuna restaurant parking lot in Murrells Inlet from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tasting tickets are available for purchase. Come try a variety of categories including the hottest chili, best vegetarian chili, most original, and more. Craft beer and cocktails will also be available for purchase and a variety of vendors will be on hand.

 

43rd Annual Dickens Christmas Show | November 7 – 10, 2024 | Myrtle Beach Convention Center

Kickstart the Christmas season in style at the annual Dickens Christmas Show and Festival at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. This highly anticipated annual event will offer plenty of live entertainment, visits with Santa, historical exhibits, and an expensive 100,800-square-foot Victorian marketplace—the main draw of this event. Hundreds of vendors from throughout the region will be present offering everything from gifts and decorations to specialty food items, art, and just about everything in between. Admission is $13 for adults, $6 for children (2 and older), and children (2 and under) are free. Multi-day passes, off-site Holiday Tour tickets and Victorian Tea tickets are also available. 20th Annual Murrells Inlet Oyster Roast | November 9, 2024 | Murrells Inlet

OystersEnjoy the scenery and eat plenty of oysters! Come attend the 20th Annual Murrells Inlet Oyster Roast at the Wicked Tuna restaurant parking lot in Murrells Inlet. They will be featuring all-you-can-eat oysters, live music, cold libations, and more from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

52nd Annual Art in the Park | November 9 – 10, 2024 | Market Common’s Valor Park

The Waccamaw Arts and Crafts Guild hosts its 52nd annual Art in the Park event series featuring local and national artists. The event is on Saturday and Sunday, November 9th and 10th at Valor Memorial Garden, 1120 Farrow Parkway from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Come see 50 artists with various forms of art including paintings, woodworking, photography, jewelry, fabric, glass, metal, pottery, and stone.

 

Carolina Beach Music Awards | November 10, 2024 | Alabama Theatre & More!

The Carolina Beach Music Awards are back! This is the big music event of the year in Myrtle Beach. Celebrate the vibrant heritage of Carolina Beach Music, its various influences, and the distinct lifestyle of the Carolinas.

The CBMA Awards aim to pay tribute to the trailblazers of this genre, acknowledging the contributions of performers, songwriters, radio hosts, mobile DJs, dancers, producers, engineers, promoters, and others who have enriched and advanced Carolina Beach Music.

Art in the Park | November 9 – 10, 2024 | Valor Park at The Market Common

The final two days of Art in the Park for 2024 will take place in Valor Park at The Market Common. This weekend-long arts festival and appreciation for regional artists focuses on the visual arts, from paintings to sculptures, pottery, woodworking, and more. Visitors can peruse and purchase artwork during the event. The hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is free.

 

11th Annual Renaissance Festival | November 16 – 17, 2024 | Myrtle Beach

The Mythical and Medieval Fest is a Renaissance-themed family fun festival to raise money for Caleb’s Dragonfly Dreams. Caleb’s Dragonfly Dreams is a local non-profit in Myrtle Beach, SC that provides positive activities to children in group homes or shelters. At this event, enjoy a range of free activities including bubble blowing with fairies, Viking toss, a lively fight circle, and live music. There will be numerous fun games and surprises for children of all ages. Savor a variety of food options to satisfy every appetite. Additionally, watch blacksmiths craft bracelets from steel and marvel as glass blowers transform molten glass into exquisite pendants.

 

Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony | November 23, 2024 | The Market Common

Come kick off the holiday season with kids’ festive activities, photos with Santa Claus, holiday performances, holiday treats, complimentary carriage rides, trackless train rides, face painting, balloon art, bounce houses, and more. This family event will spread joy and fun to everyone in front of the Grand 14 Movie Theater in The Market Common from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

 

Annual Christmas Bazaar & Craft Show | November 23 & November 24, 2024 | Myrtle Beach

Get festive for the holiday season at the 19th Annual Christmas Bazaar & Craft Show! They have a brand new location this year at the Myrtle Beach Sports Center. It runs for only two days from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Have fun and start your holiday shopping with over 120 vendors!

 

The Great Christmas Light Show | November 25 – December 30, 2024 | North Myrtle Beach

New lights and new displays! The Great Christmas Light Show is a drive-through light show at the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. It features over 2 million lights displayed along a 2-mile drive throughout the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex. See over 500 magical light displays, and experience enchanting, animated figures and holiday scenes where the lights come to life. After driving through the light show, everyone is invited to park their car and visit Santa’s Village where they can enjoy hot chocolate, and s’mores and meet Santa! It runs through November 25 – December 30 but is closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, and Christmas Day, December 25.

 

Surfside Beach Turkey Trot | November 28, 2024 | Surfside Beach

RunningBe at the starting line at 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day for the start of the 15th annual Surfside Rotary Turkey Trot. The Turkey Trot starts and finishes at the Surfside Pier in Surfside Beach, and you’ll have a great view of the Atlantic Ocean as you run up an appetite for that turkey dinner. This race offers both a 5K run and 10K run option, as well as a Gobbler Kids Dash for the little ones! Participants are encouraged to dress in festive clothing for a chance to be entered into the costume contest.

 

MarshWalk Wonderland of Lights | November 29, 2024 | Murrells Inlet

Stroll the holiday lights on the MarshWalk! This spectacular Christmas light walk-through experience will feature eight MarshWalk restaurant buildings along the ½ mile boardwalk outlined in an array of Christmas lights and stunning arches with festive Christmas music in front of each restaurant! There will be many festive photo opportunities for you to stop and pose and vendors to shop at. Make sure to visit Santa’s Village on Fridays – Sundays from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. through December 22nd. Santa’s Village will feature children’s activities, a petting zoo, barrel cart rides, visits with Santa, Christmas Characters, and so much more! Nights of a Thousand Candles | November 30 – January 5, 2025 | Brookgreen Gardens

Nights of a Thousand Candles

Come see the Gardens come to life amid the soft glow of more than 2,800 hand-lit candles and millions of sparkling lights! Hear holiday music, taste hot apple cider, and see family and friends surrounding you during this holiday season event. The starting date is November 30, with December and January dates available as well from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Nights of a Thousand Candles tickets sell out fast and need to be pre-purchased.
