With beautiful beach weather, smaller crowds, and plenty of lively local events, including many that are family-friendly and free to attend, September is the perfect time to enjoy everything the Grand Strand has to offer. 1. Enjoy Live Music and Entertainment

September is a great time to catch a live show in Myrtle Beach, with plenty of entertainment options to choose from. Catch a concert at House of Blues Myrtle Beach, enjoy a guest performance or variety show at Alabama Theatre, or experience a high-energy live production at The Carolina Opry. With concerts, tribute acts, comedy, and live music happening throughout the month, there is something for nearly every kind of music fan to enjoy.

• September 11, 2026: STAYIN’ ALIVE: One Night of the Bee Gees at 7 p.m.
• September 27, 2026: EagleMania: The Eagles Tribute at 7 p.m.

Alabama Theatre:

• September 6, 2026: Hotel California: A Salute to the Eagles at 7 p.m.
• September 24 & 25, 2026: Leanne Morgan: The Time of Our Lives at 7 p.m. both nights and an additional 3 p.m. show on September 25
• September 27, 2026: The Beach Boys on Sunday at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.

House of Blues:

• September 5, 2026: Bilmuri at 6 p.m.
• September 6, 2026: YFN Lucci at 8 p.m.

Greg Rowles Legacy Theatre:

2. Labor Day Weekend Fireworks Extravaganza

Where: Broadway at the Beach
When: Sunday, September 6, 2026

Celebrate Labor Day weekend with a spectacular fireworks display over the lake at Broadway at the Beach on Sunday, September 6, around 10 p.m. The fireworks are free to attend and are weather permitting. 

3. Full Moon Beach Yoga

Where: Public Beach Access at Nash Street, Myrtle Beach
When: Date and time to be announced 

Wrap up your day on the beach with Full Moon Yoga, an uplifting event supporting a great cause! Real Hot Yoga hosts a community yoga class on the beach to benefit the Community Kitchen of Myrtle Beach. Participation is open to everyone, with a $15 donation requested. Bring your mat, a reusable water bottle, and positive vibes!

4. 13th Annual Home Improvement and Outdoor Living Show

Where: Myrtle Beach Convention Center, 2101 North Oak Street, Myrtle Beach 

When: Friday, September 11, through Sunday, September 13, 2026 

Enjoy this expo featuring a variety of industry professionals offering indoor and outdoor home improvement services, along with seminars, workshops, culinary demonstrations, local artists, pets available for adoption, and more! The event will take place September 11 and 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and September 13 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults or $10 for a weekend pass, and admission is free for children under 16.

5. Society of Stranders (SOS) Fall Migration

Where: Main Street, North Myrtle Beach
When: Friday, September 18, through Sunday, September 27, 2026 

This 9-day event celebrates the famous Carolina shag dance with nightly entertainment and parties at various shag clubs throughout North Myrtle Beach. Shag classes, special parties, and more will be held throughout the celebration. 

6. SeptemberFest! At Barefoot Landing

Where: Barefoot Landing, 4898 Hwy 17 S, North Myrtle Beach
When: Saturday, September 19, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. 

Head to Barefoot Landing from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. for live music and kids’ activities. The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach will also be on hand for photo opportunities, raffles, auctions, and more! The Duplin Grape Stomp will also take place during the event. Tickets for the Grape Stomp can be purchased in advance or on the day of the event at Dockside Village at Barefoot Landing starting at 12 p.m. Tickets are $35 per person.

7. The 45th Annual Aynor Harvest Hoe-down

Where: Aynor Town Park, Aynor, SC

When: Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Celebrate the arrival of fall at the Aynor Harvest Hoe-Down Festival. This annual festival returns for another year, bringing families live music and entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, and even a grand parade! The festival is free to attend.

8. 51st Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival

Where: Huntington Beach State Park
When: Friday, September 25, from noon to 5 p.m.; Saturday, September 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, September 27, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Head to Huntington Beach State Park near Murrells Inlet for the 51st Annual Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival. For three days, attendees can enjoy fine art, quality crafts, food, and live music from nearly 100 talented artists in the beautiful surroundings of the Grand Strand. Festival admission is $10 per adult ages 16 and older, while admission is free for visitors ages 15 and younger. 

10. The Pink Ribbon Run

Where: North Myrtle Beach
When: Saturday, September 26, 2026    

Choose from a 10K, 5K, or 1-mile Memorial Miler, or take on all three races for an additional challenge medal. Participants can run or walk to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer, with 100% of donations going directly to a local nonprofit that helps area residents affected by breast cancer. The 10K is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m., followed by the 5K at 8:30 a.m. and the Memorial Miler at 9:30 a.m. Prices vary based on the race and fundraising options.
