Spring has officially arrived in Myrtle Beach! This time of year brings warm temperatures, lower humidity, and beautiful beach days, with April highs averaging around 75 degrees. It’s the perfect season to plan a refreshing getaway to the coast.

Smoke on the Beach BBQ Festival

When: April 7 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and April 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: 8th Avenue N, Myrtle Beach (near the Boardwalk)

Come and try some BBQ at the MBSC Smoke on the Beach BBQ Competition Festival! This annual event by the Myrtle Beach Shrine Club draws amateur and professional BBQ teams to the beach. Join the fun with festival vendors and food trucks. The festival also features live music and a car show. Sun, Fun. Sand, and BBQ!

 

Myrtle Beach Food Truck Festival

When: Friday, April 10, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. | Saturday, April 11, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. | Sunday, April 12, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m

Where: Old Myrtle Square Mall Site – 2501 N. Kings Hwy., Myrtle Beach

The Myrtle Beach Food Truck Festival returns to the beach for a weekend of food trucks, beer and wine sales, a kid zone and live music. The event will feature over 50 local and regional food trucks to satisfy any craving with many choices and varieties. Local vendors and artisans will also be on hand. Single-day tickets are good for one person for any one day, and children 12 and under are FREE.

 

Socastee Heritage Festival 

When: Saturday, April 11, at 10 a.m.
Where: 5835 Dick Pond Rd, Myrtle Beach

Looking for the perfect family outing in Myrtle Beach? Learn about the history of the area and celebrate at the Socastee Heritage Festival for a day full of food, entertainment, live music, shopping, and even activities for the kids!

 

Shadow Bay Celtic Festival

When: Saturday, April 11, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: RH Acres, 3833 Socastee Blvd, Myrtle Beach

This festival will feature a variety of Celtic traditions and will include Highland games on the main field, live Celtic music, a bonfire, a fairy forest, blacksmith demonstrations, an artisan area, a handfasting ceremony, a Maypole dance, and more. Tickets are $12 in advance for adults ages 12 and older, and $6 for children ages 4 to 11. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate with cash.

 

8th Annual Touch-a-Truck Event

When:  Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex

Are you traveling with little explorers? Don’t miss the Touch-a-Truck event at North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex! Kids have the chance to get close-up and hands-on with fire trucks, police cruisers, construction equipment, and more!

 

SOS Spring Safari

When: April 13 – 23
Where: Main Street, North Myrtle Beach

Did you know that the Grand Strand is the home of the famous Shag dance? The SOS (Society of Stranders) Spring Safari is a shagger’s dream! Thousands of shaggers visit North Myrtle Beach annually for a wide variety of activities, including tea parties, shag dancing, dance lessons, live music, and mingling with friends. As the sun goes down, all the local lounges light up with activity, and spots like Duck’s, Fat Harold’s, Pirate’s Cove, and the OD Lounge become the center of nightlife and fun. This spring celebration will conclude with a parade on the last Saturday of the event featuring ACSC member clubs that plan, design, and build parade floats.

Myrtle Beach Pelicans Baseball

Celebrate the 18th Annual Dragon Boat Festival, a beloved fundraising event that brings the community together for an exciting day on the water. Teams of 20 paddlers—plus a drummer—will compete for the fastest times in their divisions, creating an action-packed race experience for participants and spectators alike.

Beyond the races, guests can enjoy a live DJ, awards ceremony, food and drink vendors, entertainment, and a Family Fun Zone (available at an additional cost). Best of all, spectator admission is free, making it a fun and affordable outing for everyone!
