Best Nightlife in Myrtle Beach

By Megan Burke Follow me on Google+

Most people come to Myrtle Beach to soak up some Carolina sunshine on the beach or by the pool, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop when the sun goes down!

Myrtle Beach is also home to some outstanding nightlife options! There are bars and clubs fit for all ages lining the coast and we've picked our top places that we think you should check out while you're vacationing in Myrtle Beach.

Broadway at the Beach bridge at night1. Broadway at the Beach - This one is a given! Broadway is the biggest and best known place for anything from shopping to eating to partying in Myrtle Beach. Celebrity Square is home to a ton of clubs and nightlife and they are all located in one exciting spot, meaning you can walk around and find the best place to fit your tastes. Here are some of the many choices you have within Broadway:

• Club Boca is a trendy, modern club that plays all the latest hits. It also has a martini bar and a dance floor with a light show sure to make everyone wants to bust a move. This club has a big city vibe but with the friendliness of a southern beach town.
• Malibu's Surf Bar brings the spirit of the beach into the club with a playful mix of ocean inspired decorations, club-style lighting and great dance music. It’s sometimes known as the biggest indoor beach party.
• Broadway Louie's is a sports themed bar with a 25 foot jumbo screen, 4 big screens and 35 smaller screens so you can watch all your team's moves. But it also has an arcade and is home to some of the best karaoke in Myrtle Beach.
• Froggy Bottomz is a two-story club with a fantastic live house band that plays a wide variety of music that can appeal to everyone. The main level of this club is the dance floor where you can show off all your moves and the upper level has mostly seating, as well as another dance floor and the VIP Sky Box.

All these clubs are located in Celebrity Square at Broadway at the beach so you can try them all on for size and see what fits you best. Also all of the above clubs are part of Celebrations Nitelife, a VMB Partner, so when you're staying at a Vacation Myrtle Beach resort you can get entry totally free before 11 p.m. to three of these clubs. Visit the Myrtle Beach deals page for more details.

But there are even more clubs and nightlife options to consider at Broadway at the Beach!

• Senor Frogs is a restaurant by day and a nightclub by night. The atmosphere is quirky and laid back, featuring stools that have funny rear ends on them and swings near the bar. There is also a DJ almost every night and lots of drink specials. Plus Senor Frogs is another VMB partner which means our resort guests can get a discount on the cover charge for anyone under 21 and no cover charge at all for anyone over 21 before 11 p.m. Check out the full details on the VMB card page.
• Crocodile Rocks is a favorite because of its uniqueness. Here you can find dueling pianos played by fun and entertaining musicians who have a great way of getting the crowd into the show. You have to check it out while you're in Myrtle Beach.
• Fat Tuesdays is another great choice if you're looking for a frozen drink after a hot day on the beach. This bar and restaurant is a national chain and has some great food to go along with the deliciously dangerous drinks.
• Wet Willies is similar to Fat Tuesdays in that it specializes in frozen drinks but this smaller, southern based chain has over 20 different options for thirsty patrons to choose from as well as the option to mix several of the concoctions together for a unique flavor.

As you can see, Broadway is the place to be! No matter what night of the week it is, there will always be a party in Celebrity Square.

2. 2001 Night Club - This north-end Myrtle Beach club gives you two unique experiences in one - Club Touch and Next Level . Club Touch leads the way in technology with over 6,000 square feet of amazing sound, lights, multi-level dance floors, shadow boxes, plenty of seating, and two huge bars.  Club goers are also given a unique spotlight when hidden cameras capture them and then make them part of a dancers collage on multiple screens around the club. Next Level has more of a "lounge" feel with two great bars, non-smoking areas, comfortable seating, a great stage, and a dance floor.  Next Level’s main attraction is the live bands that perform Thursday through Saturday.
2001 never fails to entertain thanks to the two unique experiences you can get: a fantastic club or a laid back small concert. And if you’re staying at a VMB resort you can get free admission to the club if you’re over 21 with your VMB card.

3. The Marshwalk in Murrells Inlet- While not a complex like Broadway at the Beach, the Marshwalk, located south of Myrtle Beach, offers a ton of different nightlife options within a pretty small area, meaning you can easily go from place to place until you find exactly what you’re looking for.
The Marshwalk is technically a walkway that goes along the inlet behind several of restaurants in the area, making it safer and easier to go from place to place while also enjoying some fantastic and unique views. There are a number of great places to go to that are on the Marshwalk but here are a few you may want to check out:

• Dead Dog Saloon- This restaurant has made a name for itself thanks to its extensive menu, large outdoor bar and seating area, and regular live music. You can keep one eye on the game while listening to a great band, eating great food and taking in some of the best views of the inlet- what’s not to love?
• Captain Dave's Dockside and Bubba's Love Shak - Captain Dave's features a full dinner menu starting daily at 4pm that specializes in charcoal grilled fish and steaks. After a great dinner, walk less than 50 feet to Bubba's Love Shak to get the party started. With live music every night, there's never a dull moment at the Shak! You can also head back to Captain Dave’s on Sundays to enjoy a delicious brunch.
• CreekRatz- A Creek Rat is an affectionate term for area children who spend their days playing in the water in the area and this restaurant is sure to have you giddy as a child. It has a great menu featuring some of the best food and prices around, as well as a large indoor bar and even larger outdoor patio area where live bands often perform.  With a VMB card you can get a free Pimento Cheese Dip or Fried Pickle Chips with the purchase of your entrée so why wouldn’t you stop by there for dinner and stay a while to enjoy the after dinner party?
• Wicked Tuna- All of the restaurants on the Marshwalk have great views, but Wicked Tuna’s location on the southernmost end gives it some of the most complete and unobstructed views. It also has a great menu featuring fresh fish of all kinds, including sushi as well as a great drink selection. And outside at the dockside patio and bar there is often live music and a “wicked” atmosphere.

Also located in Murrells Inlet, though not on the Marshwalk, is another bar and restaurant worth visiting: Hot Fish Club. This is one of the hottest places to be on the Grand Strand. Opening daily at 4pm, they have a full dinner menu complete with all the low country items you could want and each night brings you live entertainment at the gazebo bar. You are almost guaranteed a good time at Hot Fish no matter what time of the year it is! And with your VMB Myrtle Beach discounts card you can get a complimentary appetizer with your party’s entree purchases—in case you needed another reason to check it out.

As you can tell, there is always something to do in Myrtle Beach at night. These are only a few of the many places there are for cold drinks, dancing, music, and a good time. Make sure in addition to visiting these places you also keep an eye on our Myrtle Beach events calendar for any special entertainment and nightlife options that are coming up.
