Halloween in Myrtle Beach 2023 - Events, Festivals & More

Witch-ing you a spook-tacular Halloween! There are lots of ways to celebrate Halloween in Myrtle Beach, both scary and friendly. Halloween falls on a Tuesday this year, so most of the events occur the weekend prior. As always, check with the local venues just in case there should be a change because of the weather.

Every Friday & Saturday throughout October

Ripley’s Haunted Adventure!

  • Where: 915 N Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach
  • Date: Every Friday & Saturday throughout October 2023
  • When: 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

Are you ready to take down some zombies? In this haunted mansion near the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, you will be given a laser gun to defend yourself and take down the zombies lurking at every corner. For ages 8 years and up.

Thompson Farms Flashlight Fridays!

  • Where: Thompson Farm and Nursery, in Conway 
  • Date: Every Friday in October 2023
  • When: 5 pm, movies begin at dusk

This is a favorite event at the farm during the fall! There will be a fire pit, play area, sweet treats and coffee available for purchase, a movie beginning at dusk, and a 6-acre corn maze.  If you're up for the spooky challenge, give the 6-acre corn maze a try in the dark!

Conway Ghost Walk!

  • Where: Conway Visitors Center
  • Date: Thursday- Saturday, October 18-21, 2023
  • When: 6 pm to 8 pm

This year the Conway Ghost Walk travels beneath the stately oaks of the Historic Conwayborough Residential District and along the way, storytellers share tales that are spooky, sometimes humorous and guaranteed to become part of your family's Halloween tradition. Dress appropriately for walking surfaces of sidewalks, grass, slight inclines, or hills and roadways. A flashlight to bring is optional to utilize when traveling from location to location.  The storytelling tour has six stops, and the route is approximately 1 mile. Tickets are $22.  This event does sell out, so reservations are suggested but tour-goers may also visit the box office on tour nights to purchase any available walk-up tickets.

Haunted Hustle Fun!

  • Where: RiverFront Park, in Conway
  • Date: Thursday, October 19, 2023
  • When: Check In 6:30 pm 

Bring your own flashlight, and athletic footwear, and come join the 1 mile, hair-raising run through a spine-chilling course! Zombies will drag you to the starting line! The course will include terrifying features along an outdoor trail sure to motivate any runner to step on it! Register for it here.

Children’s Imagination Walk!

  • Where: Brookgreen Gardens
  • Date: Saturday, October 28, 2023
  • When: 10 am to 4 pm

Let your imagination run wild through the gardens. Kids ages 3 - 12 are encouraged to wear their favorite costume, however, all ages are welcome to participate. The afternoon will include a scavenger hunt and “trick-or-treating” at various stops. Participation is free with garden admission. For more details, call (843) 235-6000. Halloween Helicopter Treat Drop On The Farm

  • Where: Thompson Farm And Nursery, in Conway

  • When: 10 am to 6 pm 

Watch over 10,000 festive "Pumpkin Seeds" filled with Halloween candy and goodies that will be dropped out of a helicopter around 4 p.m. Don't forget to bring your trick-or-treat bags as you get up to your EARS in Halloween fun and treats on the farm.  Halloween Golf Cart Parade!

  • Where: Downtown Conway
  • Date: Saturday, October 28, 2023
  • When: 11 am to 1 pm

Gather your family, friends, and neighbors for a fun morning! Choose a theme, get into costume, and decorate a golf cart to celebrate the Halloween season. The Halloween Golf Cart Parade will begin at the Conway Public Safety Building on 9th Avenue. Awards will be presented. Registration, full event details, and rules are available at Conway Alive

 

BooFest!

  • Date: Saturday, October 28, 2023
  • When: 12 pm to 4 pm, movie at 7 pm

Head over to Barefoot Landing for a spooky, family-fun event! There will be a kids and pets costume contest, activities, and a DJ dance party! Kids wishing to enter the costume contest may register with their age group at 11 a.m. Make sure to stick around and bring a chair for a free showing of “Hocus Pocus” on the Dockside Village Amphitheater Lawn at 7 p.m.

 

Spooky Spirits Festival!

  • Where: La Belle Amie Vineyard
  • Date: Saturday, October 28, 2023
  • When: Doors open at 10am, 12 pm to 5 pm

Enjoy the afternoon of music from two talented music groups, a beautiful outdoor venue, lots of friendly folks, and your favorite wine, beer, beverages, and festival foods to enjoy from their outdoor concessions areas.  Plus enjoy plenty of seating, covered areas, fans, and shaded grounds to keep you comfortable.  Doors open at 10 am.  Live music from Harlequin and by: Miracle Max and The Pet Monsters starts at 12:00 pm and wraps up at 4:30 pm. Halloween Bash on The Avenue

  • Where: The Avenue at Broadway at the Beach
  • Date: Saturday, October 28, 2023
  • When: 7 pm

Join us for one of the largest Halloween celebrations in the Myrtle Beach area! This adult event features an adult costume contest, a live DJ, and more! The 6th Annual Halloween Bar Crawl!

  • Where: Check-In at The Funplex, Amusement Park in Myrtle Beach
  • Date: Friday, October 28, 2023
  • When: 4 pm to 10 pm

It’s often called "Make Your Own Adventure Crawls" because there is no set agenda. They will have a ton of bars, drink specials, and other things going on, but no set agenda. The After Parties are chosen to be the best late-night atmosphere, with typically a DJ or Band. When the after-party starts, most of their deals and specials end with the other bars on the crawl. So don't be late and get to the after-party! Don't forget your friends, and don't forget to plan a safe and sober way home! 

 

Howl-O-Scream

  • Where: North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex
  • Date: Saturday, October 28, 2023

Goblins, ghouls, and ghosts oh my! This spooktacular event has an array of activities for all ages, including hayrides, marshmallow roasting, trick-or-treating, and much more. Scare Free and Scare Zones offer a variety of excitement levels that are sure to satisfy all.

Halloween is a fun and sweet time to be at the beach! There are plenty of fun, safe places for your little princesses, superheroes, and ghouls to fill their treat bags. Here are the trick-or-treating schedules in and around Myrtle Beach.

Hometown Halloween!

  • Where: 4002 Deville Street, Myrtle Beach at The Market Common
  • Date: Tuesday, October 31, 2023
  • When: 5 pm to 7pm

The Market Common’s Hometown Halloween is back! Hop aboard a complimentary Spooky Carriage Ride beginning at 4:00 p.m. and children’s trick or treating at center shops with an orange balloon from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  Watch as the streets come alive with witches, superheroes, ghosts, and sweet treats galore! This is a fun and safe Halloween treat for the community.

 

Halloween On The MarshWalk!

  • Where: The Murrells Inlet MarshWalk
  • Date: Tuesday, October 31, 2023
  • When: 5 pm to 10:30 pm

Ghosts, goblins, and ghouls of all ages will fill the Marsh at this year’s longest-running and most successful event, Halloween on the MarshWalk. It brings fun and prizes to the whole family! 

The kids’ trick-or-treating begins at 5 p.m. and the children’s costume contest at 6 p.m. in front of Drunken Jack’s at the Pirate Statue. Prizes will be awarded for the Most Creative, Best Group, Funniest, and Scariest for kids ages three and up. Kids age two and under will compete for the Awes Applause award. The Adult Costume Contest will begin at 7 p.m. A total of over $4000 in cash and prizes will be awarded. For more information, please visit the MarshWalk website.

 

VARIOUS DATES

Myrtle Beach Area Ghosts, Pirates & Historic Families Trolley Tour!

  • Where: The Market Common ride to Murrells Inlet and beyond
  • Date: Thursdays in October (as well as future dates available!)
  • When: 10 am to Noon

Learn the area's local ghost stories and historic past during a two-hour narrated trolley ride from Myrtle Beach to Murrells Inlet. Guests will get to see Brookgreen Gardens’ Gardener’s Cottage, Pawleys Island Hammock Shops, and more, all while receiving an informative overview of pirate tales and ghosts. Hopsewee Plantation Ghost Tour!

  • Where: Hopsewee Plantation in Georgetown
  • Date:  Wednesdays in October (as well as future dates available!)
  • When: 5 pm to 6:30 pm

Go back in time and experience Haunted Tales at Hopsewee Plantation, presenting stories of Author and storyteller Elizabeth Robertson Huntsinger. She's been a Historical Interpreter for over 25 years. Make sure to arrive early for Hopsewee Happy Hour and enjoy drinks and hors d'oeuvres by the river before your tour. Feel free to browse the gift shop and get your book purchases signed by the author. Prices vary by age $10 - $22 a person.
