New in Myrtle Beach 2024

 

The Beach that brings people together continues to grow and expand in Myrtle Beach, SC! One of the many exciting reasons to visit Myrtle Beach is to experience new and exciting things. Every year the area introduces new restaurants, shows, shopping, attractions, flights, and much more! Check out our expansion on the top new things to check out in Myrtle Beach in 2024!

 

Food and Drink 

Dirty Don’s Oyster Bar 

Dirty Don’s Oyster Bar & Grill has opened a new location in The Market Common at 3090 Deville St and is the former location of The Brass Tap. The menu features a variety of seafood including the titular oysters, fish, crab, and shrimp. Other options include wings, steak, tacos, and burgers.

 

Whiskey Roots Bar and Grill

Whiskey Roots Bar and Grill is now open at 205 N Kings Hwy from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. They serve alcohol-inspired food like its namesake sauce, a combination of barbecue sauce and bourbon, not whiskey. The restaurant’s menu includes its homemade burger, chicken quesadillas, and red snapper. The restaurant also has more features than just food and whiskey - Whiskey Roots has 2 karaoke rooms which can be booked in advance on the restaurant’s website.

 

The Tasting Room and The Dolly Llama

Coming soon to the downtown area of Myrtle Beach is The Tasting Room, an upscale wine bar and cocktail lounge, and The Dolly Llama, which will create over-the-top desserts and ice cream treats. The businesses will be at the old Belk Building at 505 9th Ave N at about 2,500 square feet each. The Tasting Room will offer a wide selection of wines from around the world and a curated menu of food pairings. They aim to create an inclusive, community-centered space where everyone from the wine novice to the experienced connoisseur feels welcome. The ambiance strikes a balance between industrial charm and contemporary chic. Their goal is to help cultivate forward progress in the city’s efforts to restore the area and help breathe new life into downtown. Dolly Llama, a dessert shop franchise, was founded to create a unique dessert concept, the perfect representation for their ice cream and waffle brand, bringing all that fun llama spirit into creative dessert concoctions, happy customers, and great, fun vibes!

 

Voodoo Brewing

Voodoo Brewing Flight of BeerThe Voodoo Brewery is now open in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. The brewery is located at 3453 Highway 17 Business, just a mile and a half north of the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk. The 4,750 sq. ft. building can seat 105 inside and 65 outside. A private room which can fit 30-40 people can be rented out for events. Outside, picnic tables, cornhole, and other games will create a relaxed brewery atmosphere. They have 24 taps, most of which will be pouring Voodoo beers and seltzers but also a variety of kegs from regional breweries. They also have a limited liquor bar with signature cocktails. For food, some menu items you can expect to find include shrimp po'boy, grouper sandwich, fish and chips, and southern fried chicken.

 

Bin 2004

Bin, Wine & Tapas Restaurant is a brand-new restaurant and wine lounge concept located in the heart of North Myrtle Beach that will be opening sometime this year. To find out more information, join the waitlist here.

 

Gio’s Pizzeria Napoletana

Gio’s Pizzeria Napoletana opened in The Market Common in September 2023 at 4003 Deville St, Myrtle Beach. Family is the cornerstone of this establishment. They offer tightly curated items such as hand-tossed pizzas and handcrafted calzones, appetizers, desserts, and a full bar. They take pride in using the highest quality ingredients. They feature an upscale industrial chic dining scene, where guests can expect an excellent overall dining experience.

 

Lekkar Eats

Lekker Eats display of foodLekkar Eats recently moved to a new Myrtle Beach location and expanded its offerings at 3751 Robert Grissom Pkwy, Suite 10. They are an ingredient-conscious breakfast and lunch cafe, that takes pride in using local and organic produce when available. They focus on clean ingredients and yummy food! Their menu ranges from specialty coffees, salads, burgers, sandwiches, smoothies, and smoothie bowls. They believe there is truly something for everyone on their menu and they work hard to make the healthiest food taste the yummiest!

 

Capriotti's 

Capriotti's, a sandwich restaurant, is coming soon to The Market Common. They are a national chain that serves cheese steaks, sub sandwiches, and salads. They are made with award-winning traditional recipes and fresh ingredients. Butterball turkeys are even roasted every night and hand pulled. Their staple sub is a Wagyu Beef Sandwich, which is layered with ultra-premium American Wagyu beef, coleslaw, provolone cheese, Russian dressing, and mayo. They also have vegetarian options as well.

 

Thai Bistro

Thai Bistro is a restaurant that opened in November 2023. The eatery is located at 1225 38th Ave N in Myrtle Beach next to Food Lion. Their menu features a wide variety of Thai, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean dishes, from classic favorites to more unique and creative options. Whether you're in the mood for a traditional Thai curry, a plate of sushi, or savory Chinese dishes, they have a variety to choose from and something to satisfy every taste.

 

Big Chill Island House 

A new nautical-themed restaurant is coming soon in April 2024! Big Chill, a 10,000-square-foot, two-story hospitable house restaurant will be opening soon at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach. They want to be known as “chill" as in “be cool, be calm, relax, eat, drink, and be mellow." They can seat up to 325 people and will offer island-inspired cuisine, fresh seafood, culinary trends, and classic American fare. The bar will feature signature cocktails like Painkilla, Island House Rum Runner, and Sunset Margarita, as well as a curated wine list of over 30 selected bottles. Guests boating on the Intracoastal Waterway can pull up and dock their boat to enjoy lunch, dinner, or an afternoon cocktail. They will have both indoor and outdoor dining available under a live oak tree in the backyard. For entertainment, there will be a small stage outside and a rooftop terrace where guests can overlook the beautiful view of the Intracoastal Waterway. It’s a fun place for people to come, relax, and enjoy themselves in a fun atmosphere!

 

Honest Greens

Honest Greens, a fresh food spot, opened at the end of 2023 in Myrtle Beach. They are located at 7937 N Kings Hwy #200, Myrtle Beach. They are more than just a restaurant; they’re all about healthy and tasty food served in a convenient, timely fashion. They are a celebration of health and flavor! A customer can choose from a set menu or create their bowl by selecting from a variety of fresh ingredients such as fresh veggies, a variety of protein options, and colorful toppings and close it off with a dressing. Honest Greens are serious about good food and good health, and they’re here to share it with everyone in a delicious way.

 

Moe’s Original BBQ

A new taste of southern barbeque is coming to Myrtle Beach! Moe’s Original BBQ, a chain featuring smoked pork and hearty sides, opened in February at 6108 N Kings Hwy featuring an open dining area. The restaurant offers a diverse menu with takeout, catering, a full premium bar, live music, and other entertainment. They're thrilled to share a passion for Alabama-style barbecue with the community and visitors. 

 

The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar

Crazy Mason Desserts with Ice CreamCome for dessert and now coffee! The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar is a family-owned, locally focused business serving up large ice cream creations, shakes, and sundaes, and now they offer coffee. Since March 2023, they have been in their very own free-standing building near the Grand Coastal Mall. Whether you're headed to the mall or the movie theatre, you can now get your coffee fix with a variety of sweet bakery items to pair it with. They are located at 2461 Coastal Grand Cir, Myrtle Beach. 

 

Mura Restaurant, Bar and Cafe

Mura Restaurant Bar and Cafe, a Korean restaurant, is now open in The Market Common at 1390 Farrow Pkwy, Myrtle Beach, in a shopping center across from Grand Park Athletic Complex. They uniquely serve food with dine-in conveyor belts - the first of its kind in the Myrtle Beach area. They feature Korean-inspired small plates, along with teas and cocktails; grab-and-go food options are also available. 

 

DeVeglio’s Fresh Pasta Italian Market

DeVeglio's Fresh Pasta Italian Market, a family-owned establishment, brought the flavors of New York Italian to Myrtle Beach in October 2023. They are located just outside of The Market Common at 1550 Farrow Pkwy, Suite C, Myrtle Beach. From the moment you enter, the aroma of freshly made pasta fill the air, transporting you to the streets of New York's Little Italy. They have a wide array of homemade fresh-cut pasta, ravioli, sauces, case items, and antipasto. Their focus is on quality and authenticity. Make sure to leave room for dessert! They offer a variety of sweet treats that will satisfy any sweet tooth, like decadent tiramisu, cheesecake, and cannoli. Their passion for food will transport your taste buds to a place where every bite is a celebration of flavor.

  

2024 New Flights

Airplane viewAvelo Airlines will operate a new flight from Myrtle Beach International Airport to the Wilmington Airport in Delaware weekly in season on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays. This route is the first-ever nonstop flight between the Grand Strand and Delaware. The Wilmington Airport is just a short drive south of Philadelphia and is close to multiple major highways in the Delaware Valley area. Avelo Airlines has one other nonstop flight at Myrtle Beach International Airport, with flights to the Tweed-New Haven Airport in southern Connecticut.

Breeze Airways is adding new low-fare flights in season to Myrtle Beach International Airport; they will offer service from Myrtle Beach (MYR) to Providence, Rhode Island, starting mid-February, and to Charleston, West Virginia, and Tampa, Florida starting mid-May 2024. A unique feature of Breeze is that they do not charge change or cancellation fees up to 15 minutes before departure and offer other benefits such as free family seating and a la carte pricing. 

 

Activities and Attractions

Escape Game

Let the games begin! Can you complete the mission and escape in time? South Carolina’s first-ever 'The Escape Game' opened in Myrtle Beach at Broadway at the Beach; it’s one of 37 locations across the United States.  Escape Game is a 60-minute interactive game, where teams work together to find clues in multiple rooms to complete a mission. The multiple rooms to explore include Train Through Time, Prison Break, The Depths, Special Ops: Mysterious Market, and Gold Rush. Players can choose a variety of themes and difficulties. 

 

PopStroke

Watch out in March for PopStroke, Tiger Woods TEE-rific attraction coming to Broadway at the Beach! This first South Carolina venue is a Tiger Woods 36-hole miniature golf course, with a full-service restaurant, and indoor playground. PopStroke was created to bring people together across all ages and skill levels through the game of golf. PopStroke facilities include two 18-hole putting courses.

 

Surfside Beach Pier Reconstruction

Completion is coming soon in 2024! The town of Surfside Beach is in the final stages of reconstructing its iconic pier. The newly renovated pier will feature a restaurant and vendor space. 

 

New Slide at Myrtle Waves Waterpark 

Let’s have waves of fun starting on May 11th for the 2024 season opener! Myrtle Waves Waterpark, South Carolina's largest water park, has over 30 water slides, attractions, and 1.2 million gallons of water. This year they are adding a new "Wild Water Racer" mat slide for the 2024 season. This ride allows up to four people on a mat to lay headfirst on their stomachs sliding down! The water park will also be expanding its cabana and shaded seating area.

 

Ripley’s New Attractions

Ripley's Mini Golf Course Myrtle BeachRipley's opened three new attractions to their Ocean Boulevard location in 2023! These new attractions are miniature golf, an illusion lab, and a haunted adventure. They also made additions to their mirror maze. Ripley’s has been a Myrtle Beach attraction since 1976 and plans on continuing family-friendly fun for years to come. 

Ripley’s three new attractions, and one expanding attraction: 

  • Ripley’s Crazy Golf – Let’s PAR-TEE! Ripley’s has added miniature golf to its family of attractions. Ripley’s Crazy Golf is a three-floor, hole-in-one, indoor experience that will have you putting your skills to the test. From interactive holes and challenges to swings and selfie-worthy shots, even 360-degree loops and epic glowing lights, this isn’t your average course! Put your skills to the test and get ready for a tee-rific time!
  • Ripley’s Illusion Lab – Let’s put the brain to the test! Take a step into a world of optical, photographic, and interactive illusions. View things from a new and strange perspective. 
  • Ripley’s Haunted Adventure – Do you have the “guts” to go through the Haunted Adventure? A murder mystery comes alive through the twists and turns of a haunted manor. Can you find the clues needed to catch the killer or will you become the next victim?
  • Ripley’s Mirror Maze – Mirrors on the walls are now bigger and more alluring than ever! Walking through the maze, you will encounter endless mirrored hallways, infinity rooms, and surreal surprises!

 

Theatre and Shows 

The Greg Rowles Theatre

Coming April 2024 is The Greg Rowles Theatre in North Myrtle Beach! Greg Rowles and family offer a unique setting unlike anything you have ever seen. The Grand Strand's newest entertainment venue will leave you speechless! If you love real, live music from a wealth of talented individuals, this is the place for you. From soul-stirring ballads to electrifying ensembles, the theatre will deliver an unforgettable showcase of talent, leaving audiences spellbound and inspired. This establishment promises an immersive journey through the artistry of music, leaving a lasting mark on all who attend. 

 

Carolina Country Music Festival

After a sold-out event last year in 2023, the Carolina Country Music Festival (CCMF) is returning to Myrtle Beach on June 6-9, 2024! This East Coast’s largest country music party event will be located on 18 acres at the Boardwalk along the beach. Carrie Underwood, Morgan Wallen, Parker McCollum, Old Dominion, and 30+ biggest country singers are already confirmed as headliners! Tickets are currently sold out for this annual festival.
