Top 5 Oceanfront Restaurants in Myrtle Beach

By Samantha Norton

Why limit oceanfront views to the time you spend with your toes in the sand? Extend your face-time with the Atlantic by enjoying one of the many top notch oceanfront restaurants along the Grand Strand. No matter what cuisine you are craving, we are confident that you can find something to please your palette and your craving for the sights and sounds of the ocean:

River City Café (Surfside) – River City Café is known for its vast array of burgers and kitschy charm. This is the place where anything goes, even shelling peanuts right to the floor! A plus in this location is while you nosh on homemade French fries and hand dipped onion rings, you also get a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean. We recommend stepping outside your comfort zone and going big with something like the Fork and Knife Burger or the Fried Mac and Cheese Burger! Open seven days a week at 11 a.m., this is sure to become a family favorite.

Damon’s Grill Oceanfront – Damon’s Grill holds down the south side as an oceanfront favorite. Located along the southernmost stretch of Ocean Boulevard, Damon’s serves up home-style food that is sure to fill you up after a busy beach day. Stop in for lunch to enjoy a variety of sandwiches, salads, burgers, and plates, or come in for dinner to enjoy more hearty favorites. The dinner menu offers seafood baskets, char grilled chops, and plenty of Damon’s signature ribs smothered with their succulent sauce. Damon’s offers a large indoor seating area that offers Atlantic views and coveted air conditioning in addition to an oceanfront deck area. Call (843) 626-8000 for more information. *VMB Card Offer – Choice of famous onion loaf, artichoke dip, or chocolate chip cookie sundae for your party with entrée purchase.

Sea Captain’s House – One of the most well-known restaurants on the Grand Strand, Sea Captain’s House is a vacationer’s and local’s favorite. What began as a family’s seaside cottage has turned into an unexpectedly successful restaurant of 37 years. You can get breakfast, lunch and dinner all year round in the beautiful dining room. Sea Captain’s also offers robust gluten free and vegetarian menus. When you visit, make sure to order the award winning She Crab Soup; it is creamy and filled with delicious Atlantic Blue Fin Crab!

Loco Gecko – Loco Gecko now enjoys two locations along the Grand Strand, one at Captain’s Quarters Resort and one at Crown Reef Beach Resort and Waterpark, and is the perfect place for groups or families of any size to grab lunch or re- energize after an exhausting day. This groovy beach shack offers ocean views and a succulent menu that serves up classic beach fare. Nosh on anything from juicy burgers, flavorful wings, and flavorful pizzas to fresh seafood baskets, crisp salads, and much more.
